the whole point of "going to college" is to invest in yourself. You take on debt now, in order to make more money in the future. With unemployment very low and it's easy to get a good job since everyone is hiring. Other than the blatant effort to try to buy young voters, this opens the door wide open for the taxpayer funded government to pay for other types of personal loans owed by individuals, like car and home loans.

If anything, having a college degree means that

1) you are not resourceful to find the free information you need, because unlike before, thanks to technology it is available.
2) you lack the discipline to educate yourself using that free information in #1
3) not self sufficient, lack of direction, you constantly depend on someone to provide you an education
4) have absolutely no understanding of finances and have to resort to taking loans

Why would and employer in the right mind hire someone like that?

College is becoming a thing of the past. They do not guarantee you a job, but they do guarantee you debt.

Sure enough, but at least national defense is in the Constitution, college student loans not so much. 8/10th of a trillion dollar give aways will cost everyone, even the college grad who got the "free money" Instead of paying for 10 years like I did and being done, they'll be paying for the rest of their income earning years. And their grandkids will still be paying.
As for the military, General/President Eisenhower warned about the military industrial complex. It's just another tool of the globalist cabal. They stir up the turmoil, Congress coughs up our money. It sucks and needlessly kills a lot of people as well. The globalist elites get richer. Every time.
