In the early 1970’s I was working on computers in the days when computers took up large climate controlled rooms and only those few who were anointed could actually touch and operate a computer.

During my career, I used everything from keying in the bootstrap through the console toggle switches, to paper tape, to punched cards, to magnetic tape, to hugged-assed disks that only held a few megabytes and crashed if something as little as a smoke particle came between the heads and the platters. And at the end of my career, I was using supercomputers. I was an MIT Computer Scientist.
