I suffered through all 642 pages of "Crime and Punishment" this summer for AP Literature. It was the most boring book that I have ever read. Most of my class just read twenty pages, decided that it wasn't worth their time, and read summaries of it on the Internet instead. Last year, we read "Lord of the Flies," which I found to be the worst book that I have ever read, and we read "Things Fall Apart," which was extremely boring.
There are a few good books out that that we read in school ("The Outsiders," "The Giver"), but most are just plain unpleasant.
Half of that is Chicago and the other half is just not true. What rights don't women have in America, and how is it "transphobic" to say that men are not women?
