I wouldn't mind if the leftist scum only spent this holiday dragging our country in the mud instead of literally every holiday and opportunity.

It memorializing the day that the slaves in Texas were final informed of their emancipation. June 19th, 1865,,,
In…(say it out loud)
TEXAS!
The slaves in other parts of the eastern part of the country received the news much earlier.
You must realize that there was no such thing as cell phones and 24 hour cable news networks in 1863. Additionally, the Democrats that controlled Texas during the War Between the States weren’t too interested in telling their slaves the good news that the Republicans had freed them from the shackles of the Democrat Plantation.

You mispelled "North," although "Union" will do as well.

The holiday is not about Texas, still to this day still the most racist state in America still.

You constantly prove what little you know. When I said “eastern part of the states” that includes those states in the eastern part of the country. Those would include N & S Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Alabama… Southern States.
One would assume that you would know that the North Eastern States…Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, NewYork, Vermont, Connecticut, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Delaware, Ohio, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Wisconsin, etc had already emancipated their slaves prior to hostilities.
Juneteenth has been observed in Texas for decades prior to YOU ever hearing about it. You obviously know nothing about the subject and even less about Texas.

Check you out not knowing squat about MY country.
Guy, for the nth time, of course you read my incisive and witty repartee, in toto, always, without fail. ( you seek out anything you can use to flag me, you naughty scamp)
I am not re-hashing what I have already posted with you.
I will terminate this exercise in futility with this: Texas is the Greatest State in the Union and I thank God daily that my family left that miserable hellhole on the Hudson River and settled on the Brazos River.

Let's see you flag a screenshot of your own words and claim I'm making this up to abuse you now.

Nice!
A golden oldie from two whole years ago... back when imgflip wasn't censoring and cancelling people they disagreed with...I really must have got under your thin skin...to save this from so long ago, only to be constantly dredged back up when ever you are losing an argument.
I am surprised that you haven't flagged it so as to get me timered, once again.

BTW... why would I flag my own witty repartee?

[image deleted] Texas. Round the world. NY.
Are you going to flag this actual screenshot too and complain to the mods that I'm making up what you posted about where you live?

Yes. TEXAS!! I reside in the Great State of TEXAS!
Yes, I have lived in many countries!
Yes, I was born in NY.

Your point?
Is?
Wha???

Why would I flag my own witty repartee?

Again...you must be totally infatuated with me to save this, only to be used when you are losing an argument. I would say conversation or discussion, but with you it is ALWAYS an argument.
I am only surprised that you haven't flagged it so as to get me timered, yet again.

It only goes to show what I have been saying for a couple of years now, I am an American ...you choose to ignore that fact and lie to everyone and tell them that I am from England.

It's from Return of the Jedi when they're flying into Empire space with a security passcode they bought off of the dark web, the empire's weenie says "It's an older code, but it checks out." Search Older Code for the template.

The conversation was about Juneteenth,
again, a Texas celebration, hijacked by the media and opportunists within the Democrat Party and BLM right after the St George of Floyd anarchy and riots, and now,a Federal holiday being celebrated for the wrong reasons(I.e. another paid day off for Federal grifters).
If you want to celebrate the Emancipation of the slaves as a Natiion, then that should be observed in January.
Leave Juneteenth as it was intended to be, the observation and celebration of the news of Emancipation finally reaching the citizens and slaves of Texas.

It was an ANTI Texas celebration.
This ia silly, it's like saying slave owners are responsible for slaves becoming free because they were forced to free them,,,
2 ups, 2y
That's like saying there cannot possibly be descendants of slaves or people in Texas who are happy slavery ended. But your a paranoid oppressed lefty so....
2 ups, 2y
No. It was and continues to be a celebration of the news that the end of slavery, through the Emancipation Proclamation, had been delivered by Union General Gordon Granger in Galveston, Texas on the 19th of June 1865.
Your spin is absolutely sophomoric.
Now please stop cramming my notifs, as I have zero desire to engage in this topic any further… I am right and you are, well, how do I put this…

Thanks to everyone who commented. Was in a bad mood when I posted this meme cuz I was on 48hr."comment timeout" - Apparently something I said hurt the feelings of a precious sensitive snowflake. Maybe I had it coming, I dunno...Normally, I would've tried to respond to some comments individually. As I was standing in the corner, something did occur to me though- Even when we strongly disagree with our imgflip friends from the other side of the aisle, I should remember they are my fellow memers. That alone makes them alot cooler than their non-meming comrades.

Seriously, I'm a government contractor, enjoying my day off don't give one whit if it's Juneteenth, pride day, screw whitey day, or whatever they want to call it. We're all paying for it, it's not like I'm not going to enjoy it.

That all being said, I'll never vote for a democrat no matter how many holidays that they give me.
