Lol buy an electric car making 12 bucks a hour, with high fed interest rate, and pay the extreme state sales tax, and ridiculous vehicle tax for 14 years, plus the electric car tax. Sounds like a incentive to line some states pockets when the fed has no control over how states control vehicle tax laws. Some which were established in the 1930s and never changed.

This would make a electric car cost 3x the price to some states that squeeze everything from it's citizens. All in the name to gather money to fix roads that they never fix.

Most people in the US, and the world for that matter, cannot afford an electric car. And what's worse, electric cars are worse for the environment than gas vehicles.

that is not remotely true. Electric cars do not release all the greenhouse gasses that gas-powered cars do.
1 up, 3y
Talking about the lithium mines and disposal of the EV batteries.
0 ups, 3y
Do you know that greenhouses grow food? And that increased Carbon Dioxide for those same plants, increase plant/food production? Also helps the plant use less water and less nutrients, but produces more with less. CO2, the magical gas, that most leftists don't understand.

"that is not remotely true. Electric cars do not release all the greenhouse gasses that gas-powered cars do."

This is how the Democrats win- by leaving people misinformed.

*Where does the electric come from that powers those cars? A: From coal-fired plants.
*Where does the material to make the batteries come from? A: Strip mines.
*What are the electric cars made out of? A: Things that have to be manufactured in plants that put out CO2
*What happens to all of that junk when it no longer works? A: There is no good answer for that as we speak.

It is not the immediate operation of an electric car that releases CO2 into the atmosphere, it is EVERYTHING that goes on to make that car run. Green tech cannot return enough green operation to overcome the non-green tech used to produce it. And no one has a truly good solution to dispose/reuse the material when it outlives its usefulness.

p.s. CO2 is food for green plants, and it is not causing the temperature to rise.

that is true, but think about this: You make a car once, and you refill a gas tank for like 10 years. there is the difference.
0 ups, 3y
so in the long run, if we can use electric cars for like 10, even 20 years, they are more sustainable.

C'mon man- think!

You make both cars once, and then you refill them both for like 10 years, there is *no* difference.

Well, one difference- I don't think we know yet how long these electric car batteries are going to last. France, or some such other European country, has fields of worn out electric cars. Internal combustion engine vehicles are readily recyclable, but these batteries are a real hazard.

And the serious issue we have not touched on is that only a small minority of people in any country can afford these expensive electrics. I doubt if you are prepared to walk everywhere, but that's want the elites want for you- you will own nothing, and you will go nowhere, and it does not matter if you like it.

You recharge it. The "fuel" of an electric car is electricity, which is generated using "fossil" fuels.

Moreover, you must recharge it more frequently than you have to refill a gas tank to go the same distance. I love driving by a Tesla charging station, while the "elite" Tesla owners have to sit there for an annoyingly longer period of time than it takes for me to fill up my tank.

At least in the US, the electric grid is incapable of supporting a major shift to electric cars, and I know of no one stepping forward to pay to upgrade it.

I am confused by your confusion.

Look buddy, I really don’t care for arguing with strangers online, ok? I’ve already said that. So why don’t you just leave me alone, k?

As you might have noticed, we’re not getting anywhere, and probably wont.

Um, if you don't like to argue with people online, maybe not arguing with people online would be a good place to start?

As for not getting anywhere, that is only because you won't embrace the facts of this issue.

The Internet may not be the place for you?
0 ups, 3y
You can think of it however you want to, but maybe I’m just more mature…? Then again, it’s not like we were gonna come to a resolution so yeah.
I was ok starting the discussion, but then when I saw we weren’t getting anywhere and it was wasting time then i said no. the end.

Right. Gas cars don’t, 99¢ hamburgers do in the mass nazi style concentration camps we call slaughter houses for commercial animal farming creates most of the greenhouse gas.

This country, or any country for that matter, would be a much better place to live if more of its citizens operated in the realm of reality vs. the lying liberal narrative that is force-fed to the public via schools and media.

Here's hoping you wake up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2N6zi1DhRO0

lel car-dependent infrastructure forces people like you to rely on a number and the word "unleaded" to pursue the american dream. meanwhile, in a real country, using gas at all is a luxury, not a requirement

Yeah but there is effective mass transit / public transit systems in place in a lot of those countries.
Ours in most places is shit.
A city close to me cut Sunday bus service completely. That’s a relief for anyone who might need bus services on Sundays.
1 up, 3y
which is why i believe all the money made from oil companies should be taken and invested into public transit improvements. especially since oil companies are subsidized by the taxpayers

no one said to “just buy an electric car” except Elon Musk, and I wouldn’t consider him a leftist
1 up, 3y,

His actual words were 'still need gas vehicles'. It's clear Elon wants the transition to EV to happen naturally like going from horse&buggy to motor vehicle because that's how the consumers wanted it instead of how the government wanted it.
1 up, 3y
That’s how the programming of media created consumers who want electric vehicles.
