Getting to that point where feels like should just allow teachers to carry in school. Or armed security should start being enforced in public schools.

You know teachers used to be the security. People forget the days before shootings and what sets us apart from then. Fight fire with fire

"Back when there were no school shootings"
Didn't you just prove his point?
1 up, 3y
Haha no he just screamed about subjects he knows nothing about. I bet he’s also never held a gun outside of COD
1 up, 3y
Haha you are not familiar with the saying. It originated on the prairie when there were prairie fires OUTSIDE of the house and you didn’t want them IN the house so you would burn a ring around the house and fan it out towards the fire. The wild fire then would not burn what’s already been burnt and the house would be saved. There’s you a little history lesson your smart ass.

And as for millions more guns that is false. 70 years ago kids would bring their bbguns to school because the culture was more gun friendly. Kids were taught how to respect and use a gun for self defense not that they were human killing machines like all these video games we have. Something happened since then to where the same people who were not raised to respect gun are sick and shooting up schools, and the people who learned to use them are defending the same schools.

Making more gun laws will not do anything because you probably know criminal sickos don’t follow the law. Arm the teachers. Fight fire with fire.

Poor kid raised by his poor grandmother because his poor drug addicted mother couldn't afford him, and the first gun he had (Daniel Defense) costs about 2k. Another gun in the vehicle? This impoverished kid is going to have over 10k worth of 'legally purchased' firearms before the MSM is done spinning this shooting hoax. See a pattern and the endgame?

60 million Chinese unarmed Chinese died in the name of Moa read some DAMM history
2 ups, 3y
I would also add 1/3 of the Cambodian people died in Just 4 because they were unarmed when a mad man name Pol Pot took power.
0 ups, 3y
No, they didn't.

But for the sake of argument, let's say they did. Frig, make it 200 million.
Who cares?

19 kids and 2 adult Americans were murdered.
If the Chinese killing each other matters to you more than innocent Americans getting killed by yet another gun nutter, then you're part of the problem, a BIG part.

Well, take guns away and you get dictatorships, and multiple tens of millions of kids died in the name of those, brother

I will never understand how some soyboys playing tug of war with a three-foot gate is scary and deserving of being called an insurrection. When I first read the headlines I was expecting Olympus Has Fallen style attack with quick reaction forces converging on the premises, snipers lining the rooftops, and helos turning armed insurgents into pink mist. And corpses littering the place.

"Never forget insurrection day"
You're laying it on pretty thick aren't you. What's next, "Jan 6th a day which will live in infamy, worse than 911 and Pearl Harbor combined".
One of the chubby guys pictured is wearing pajama pants and let's not forget that buffalo guy who looks like he lost his way to the pride parade, he was really scary. Oh puhlease, I know I got a hammer mentality where everyone else is a nail but do you all really find this scary???

Tell me again how many cops was killed on your scary Jan 6th day?
Most likely you will just tell me to "STFU" because you can't handle the truth.

The cop who was there and gave his testimony said the rioters had military training, but then he went on to say the rioters threatened to go get their guns and come back and kill the cops, they said they outnumber the cops.
Is it standard military procedure to show up to a battlefield without one's weapons? No, Hell no, even a gagglef**king idiot knows better than that!!!

Why was the National Guard and other QRFs told to stand down if it was so bad? Why didn't they come and light these insurrectionists up!

It was nothing like a medieval battle, more like black friday shopping where people has been trampled to death in doorways.

Why wasn't the police lighting them up? A guy gets reported for using a phony $20 and he gets four cops after him and killed, what's it take to get someone killed at the White House? Reports say feds arrested people with IEDs and rockets, again, what the hell does it take to get someone schwacked at the White House???

There is no way this is anything other than an orchestrated stunt. If not we are pretty f**king pathetic that people described as being "f**king retarded, braindead, belonging on a short-bus" can break into our capitol. Are we really this incapable??? It's our nation's capitol for crying out loud! If we can't stop some dirty sleazy soyboys from breaking in how the hell are we to contend with Russia and China!!!
I refuse to believe my nation is this pathetic therefore I believe this was orchestrated.

You know, that's a good point, and I never thought of that. But remembering testimonies about it, ik exactly what you're talking about.
The fact that the media hasn't even mentioned this possibility is utterly ridiculous
1 up, 3y
Last I checked, the left was talking about boycotting the police
Also what would you define as good cops?
We don't know everything that happened at the January 6th riot, but based on what I've heard a few ppl that were there (and not involved in the riot) have said (both online and from connections I have irl [which are surprisingly similar]), what the media portrayed that whole event as was utter bullcrap. Was the event righteous? No. However, the event was nothing like a "mostly peaceful protest" where cops or buildings might get destroyed in an organized rioting event with absolutely nothing provoking the instigators. But I forgot, rioting is only violent when the left wants it to count as such

Ok. so if I were to get democratically elected into office/political power, and I were to just make guns completely illegal, i'm a dictator? i rose to power by force? is this the logic we're using here?
Gun control isn't taking away all and every single firearm away. It's taking away the ones you 360 noscope Timmy and Mrs. Smith with in math class.
By the way, I am 100% for putting armed, trained, and armored officers in schools for protection. I don't know WHO could possibly oppose that.
2 ups, 3y,
1 reply
No, I never said that. However, if the people have no capability to defend themselves and only the army has all the arms, the people will get enslaved eventually, even if the first leader to enforce that doesn't have the intention to enslave them (which I highly doubt would happen anyway).
I'm not going to pretend I have an opinion on that yet. There's strong arguments for and against that. Someone could easily oppose that because if someone corrupt runs what the officers are doing there, their job could be to keep the teachers teaching what they want them to teach under the threat of death (kids or teachers). (In simpler terms the guards could pose another problem). But then, we don't want innocent kids dying.
I don't think guns are the big problem here, though, since school shootings haven't always been a big problem in this country. There's other things I strongly think play into that (which I won't get into) but I think we should go to solve those kinds of problems before guarding schools or taking away guns. If it comes to guarding schools, that would have to happen.

Yeah, I'm starting to come to an idea that since ppl are flawed, no government system is going to fix injustices and problems. That doesn't mean we shouldn't try, but we should stop expecting a perfect utopia, bc it'll never happen. That's why I won't always try to have an opinion on something before I understand enough about it.

Alright tell me how more laws and bans is going to help since criminals are now law abiding citizens and Chicago is not only the most heavily restricted area but also soars above all with their violent crime rates?

Did they talk about the police man who went and shot the shooter without backup? You see… fight fire with fire
1 up, 3y
You make a great point.

Also, there's one person I can think of who promised to bring down crime rates of a major city down exponentially and actually delivered on that promise. There's only one problem; you could never mention that fact to these leftists because he's become one of the ultimate evils to the entire left in the past couple years.

You know the next week after the Orlando Shooting in 2016 (the one at a gay bar and likely started the pride month thing), there was an incident in South Carolina where someone almost came in and started trouble in a bar, but a guy there happened to be armed and he took the guy out before he killed too many people. That incident wasn't reported by the media like the Orlando shooting was, because it wouldn't support their "ban guns" agenda. It's like the media ignoring Tony Tempas but making George Floyd into a national drama, even though their deaths were quite similar. Floyd's death helped them promote an agenda, and Tempas' death didn't, so they didn't care about Tempas' death. It only was investigated after major backlash.
This is why you can't trust every politics site you read or watch from. Most of them are so blatantly illogical at this point. And fyi I don't watch Fox.

Oh, and why in gods name should we ban public schools? why is the normal guy saying that?
2 ups, 3y
Because nearly all of our problems today are the result of public school indoctrination! ALL federal spending on public education is a violation of the 10th amendment and of parental rights to educate their children as they see fit. States should retain the rights to run public schools if they wish, so long as they give parents the right to opt out of state run schools.
This is why I have been advocating for the following amendment to the constitution :

Section 1
Congress Shall not fund, direct or impose any public education policy upon the states, nor shall congress Bribe or coerce any state into imposing such policy or policies.

section 2
Banning and eliminating Federal student loans and grants.
Except as a benefit of military service or employment with the federal government, congress shall not Fund or guarantee any funds for the education of any individual.
.

I was extremely pro-gun (i currently own a colt handgun, but that's about it and I have no intent on getting anything else other then that) but really seeing another shooting and then reflecting back on others in the past 20 years really deradicalizes you.
