It wasn't great but Pepe Le Pew was actively written to be the antagonist. He was the bad guy in that cartoon. He wasn't supposed to be defended. Even the writers themselves said they didn't actually like this guy, they only have him more cartoons because of how popular they were.
He wasn't supposed to be defended. Fonzie was, AND I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE THAT CONVERSATION TOO, but you would go so far as to back the corner of someone who you were supposed to root AGAINST.
And, once again, if it's no big deal to have this kind of sexuality written about in a cartoon in a light-hearted manner, then WHAT ARE YOU STRIPPING DISNEY OF THEIR TAX AND LEGAL PRIVILEGES FOR?
