In the private sector the pay gap has virtually disappeared. Women with the same qualification, experience, etc as men working in the same job on average earn 98 cents for every dollar earned by men.

The only real pay gap between men and women is in the Federal Government. In the public sector women earn 86 cents for every dollar earned by a man

Seeing that the Federal Government employs more people than the top 25 international businesses combined, that is a lot of women who are being underpaid.

When the left complains about the pay gap they also don't take into consideration productivity. Despite the insanity coming out of left, men don't have periods. Some women, not all, have periods that are debilitating. This causes, on average, women to be less productive than men.

I am not denying in anyway how painful those periods are for those women or that they are in so much pain that the can't function. I know it happens. But men don't have periods. That means that men on average are more productive than women. Not necessarily better or smarter workers. There are some women that can get more done in an hour than some men do in day. However, I am talking about averages here.

So any pay gap in the private sector might reflect that productivity gap. That being said, the pay gap in the private sector is virtually gone.

They used to factor in pregnancies too. But now that most employers have paternity leave benefits too not a big difference for men vs women.

Yes, that's true. I still think that is an issue. The government forced maternity leave on the private sector. Nearly every business in the country doesn't like the idea of an employee going out on maternity leave for several months. Now either other employees have to pick up the slack or they have to hire a temp at a much higher cost.
