What are ya gonna do, if I could change it I would, but there are a lot of things people can’t agree on, to the massive point where even if everyone was republicans/democrat, laws STILL couldn’t be changed, wether it being homelessness, hunger, riots or funding. Thoughts?

We have the power in America to end all these things, including addiction, the picture above are heroine addicts in the streets of LA. Mike Ehrmantraut said it best when he told Walter White in breaking bad " if you are going to do something.. make sure you do it all the way, no more half measures". America has a horrible habit of half measures, meaning we start something but we don't have the moral courage to see it through completely. Hunger is a major issue for me, when I see farmers dumping milk into sewers and burning hog bodies by the thousands in ditches to keep prices high, turns my stomach, when I see rats eating silos full of grain that is half rotten from sitting and not being used , it makes me hang my head in shame for America. The drug war could have been won , we needed to execute drug dealers, institutionalize drug addicts , and eliminate the cartels with our military. Most homeless are drug addicts and the insane, I submit that 50% of our over blown military budget be reallocated into social improvement , mental health care, mental institutions , and hospitals. This shit where we are running out of hospital beds is a joke- we are a first world country - even under a pandemic we should have excess beds and PPE. I think if we address these things, riots would be a thing of the past. Public works, building roads, pumping stations, irrigation systems, and things like that can be used to help the poor get on their feet. The solutions are really simple if we have the will to do it. but we don't.

This is very true actually. One of the biggest problems can’t be resolved until everyone does what they need to do for the benefit of their nation too. See, stuff like homelessness, crime, and riots lead back to some of the most infamous sources that no person would really think about. Thanks for this conversation my guy

I believe I read that they come in "harm reduction kits" included in the 30mil grant.

Granted the narrative of 30 mil for -just- crack pipes is wrong.. however, it is still pretty bad that crack pipes for addicts are being paid for by tax payers. I would rather rehabilitation facilities/hospitals for addicts be funded by taxes, not paying for and enabling their behavior.

I actually think the entire narrative is wrong.

$0 is being spent on crack pipes.

After massive criticisms, I think there are a lot of narratives be changed from minute to minute , you know what I mean?

Everything I've seen said the Biden administration will not be including those pipes in the "safe smoking kits".

There might be some scrambling on the Biden administrations part, This is from the review board of the grant for 29 mil that includes the hazard safety kits which are mentioned within the grant - as far as I research ( which is not that much , honestly) but from what I did read - this is what they posted after reviewing the grant stipulations. ---> In the name of harm reduction, the substance abuse arm of the Health and Human Services Agency will begin providing funds to help distribute “safe smoking kits” for the consumption of various illicit drugs like crack cocaine and crystal meth.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Agency (SAMHSA) has allocated roughly $30 million for a Harm Reduction Program Grant, which includes funding for syringe exchange programs, the opioid reversal drug naloxone, test kits to detect fentanyl and “safe smoking kits/supplies,” among other more traditional measures, like HIV testing and safer sex resources.

Harm reduction efforts, like testing for infectious diseases, needle exchanges and naloxone distribution programs, are nothing new, but providing federal taxpayer funds for paraphernalia used to smoke drugs is.

This is from another link - "The purpose of the program is to support community-based overdose prevention programs, syringe services programs, and other harm reduction services," said SAMHSA in its announcement of the funding opportunity.

Some of the harm reduction efforts acceptable to SAMHSA include, "Safe sex kits, including PrEP resources and condoms; Safe smoking kits/supplies"; and "Syringes to prevent and control the spread of infectious diseases."

Image from 2022 Harm Reduction Program Grant, which states, "Grant funds must be used primarily to support the following required harm reduction activities" listed above.
