Don't even get me started, Colonel. I've gone round and round numerous times with the socialists here on imgflip who keep throwing Norway out as an example of a successful socialist country, and a model upon which the US should operate, which I absolutely dispute. The differences between the two countries are numerous and vast, to the point where their style of socialism, or democratic socialism, whatever the libs on imgflip want to call it (a rose by any other name...), make it so that it simply would not work here.
Don't forget Colonel, they also tax the hell out of everything. Why? I don't know, because the money they get from selling oil could probably set up every one of their citizens for financial independence for life. And they haven't touched a single dollar, or kroner of that money. Their govt is just sitting on it. Even selling their oil is pretty ironic, considering they're in the process of banning IC engines, yet still sell oil to the rest of the world. Hypocrisy is not the sole right of US libtards, apparently.
Income tax? I'll use US dollars as an example of their tax scheme, just for the sake of making it easier for us to follow. Let's say a person makes $100K per year. The govt taxes them at 50% of their income. They also tax their employer at 60% of what they pay the employee. So when you make $100K, the govt gets $110K. Quite a scam.
Yes, those numbers could have changed, and yes, they were told to me by a Norwegian citizen when the wife and I were there for a vacation in late 2019. No, I didn't independently verify them. But she had no reason to lie.
Plus, they have *free* health care... which means if you work in a health care related field, the govt mandates your salary. There's no other way for that to work. Try imposing salary limits on health care professionals in this country, and watch how fast they revolt. What Norway does is un-American! It's fine for them, but absolutely would not work here in the US.
