While you're making a nearly valid point, I think the main difference is awareness. Sure, I may be deluding myself, but I think I'm pretty keenly aware when I'm being manipulated, particularly by politicians, the media, and certainly big tech or the govt. You? I don't think so much so.
I think it's more of a situation for those who are being manipulated and don't think they are, because they're so unaware of when it is happening. So yes, an objective person, which I hope I am, would have to admit that they could be manipulated unknowingly.
However, at the same time, being keenly aware of the multiple times a day that the previously mentioned entities do try to manipulate me, gives me at least some reassurance that I can recognize it when it's being tried.
Just like Dementia Joe's speech today. Whoa, only a brain dead heaver would fall for that old-time BS about 'the truth is what WE say it is' theme that he employed. That tactic is so obvious that even if you agree with him, you would have to recognize it.
And all he ever does is play the guy who jumps out from the shadow of someone else and say, "YEAH! WHAT HE SAID!" There is nothing else he does other than pipe in in agreement with someone else.

Ahhhh, "Independents", that group that believes in political unicorns and fairies, and always ends up helping to elect Communists from the Democrat Party by splitting the vote, wasting their vote on rainbow dreams and candy corn.
I can think of no reason to trust the "facts" of such unrealistic and counterintuitive peeps like an alleged Independent.
So, I have never mocked anyone that decided to take the vaccine. I have, however, mocked those who insist others must get it as if it will somehow make them safer. It won't, and I will continue to expose and shame them.
As for who has the truth and who does not, even Independents get it right occasionally, kind of like how a broken clock is right twice a day.
And as for hatred, as near as I can tell on this page, you would be the only one expressing hatred.
So, yes, you "got that right"- when it comes to you. Which leads me to believe that you are no "Independent", but rather are a liberal, given how you accuse others of that for which you are most guilty. Did I get that right?
