Some observations and a question.

What was fabricated? Once was based on the transcript with Ukraine and one was based on Jan 6

There was lots of talk about impeaching for various other reasons, but they never went anywhere.

I read the transcript of that phone call. There was nothing in there. In addition the entire impeachment was based around a scam. Trump never colluded with Russia. The left still thinks it happened but even though it has been shown that this was an attempt by Hillary Clinton to discredit Trump and win the election.

After Trump was elected the left just kept it up because, even though they knew it was a fraud, they wanted to impeach Trump. That is how insane the Democrats got because Hillary was selected to win. She had just enough fraudulent votes to make it look like a close election but they didn't consider the electoral college.

Hillary was supposed to continue Obama's destruction of America but she was prevented and that threw a monkey wrench into their plans. That is why I knew back in 2016 that in 2020 Trump would not be allowed to win. Now we have the senile idiot in the White House as a front while they try to make up for lost time. How are they ever going to build back better if they have those pesky Republicans trying to make America great again? This just will not do.

Whatever BS fabrication that Pelosi came forward with was treason. She knew the Russia collusion was a Democrat tactic to persuade voters to not vote for Trump. She knew the phone call didn't have anything impeachable in it. But she still went ahead with hers and all of the other Democrats treason.

Then Pelosi tried it again in the last remaining days of Trump's term. They fabricated an insurrection out of about 300 people rioting. Yes, they rioted and it was because Trump lost but an insurrection is NOT 300 unarmed people breaking windows.

An insurrection is a militia using deadly force to overthrow the government. That just did not even come close to happening on Jan 6th. Not in the slightest. They were not there to overthrow the government. They weren't even there to hang Mike Pence. If they were that gallows wouldn't look like it was thrown together in 10 minutes with a few scrap pieces of wood lying around some guys garage.

The reason why the left is so adamant with the use of the word "insurrection" is because of the 14th Amendment would prevented Southerners who fought in the Civil War from holding office. If they can get insurrection somehow pinned on Trump then he could never run for office again.

The impeachment was over soliciting Ukraine. Even several Republicans acknowledged that the Democrats made their case and Trump did it but it wasn't an impeachable offence.

Russia wasn't a charge. The rest of it... You are only missing evidence.

The only one who has any arrangement with Ukraine is Hunter Biden and all of the money they give Hunter, Joe takes half of. The same with China.

Trump never made any deal with Ukraine. Like I said, I read the transcript. There was nothing in it. It was all fabricated by Pelosi and perpetuated by the Democrat party and their mouthpiece, the mainstream media.

I've read the transcript too. Maybe go back and read it again pretending that it's Biden saying the Trump parts and tell me how you feel about it then.

We all have bias, but I'm still gobsmacked that you guys can't acknowledge that Trump did wrong. You are still allowed to say he's better than Biden and that it wasn't worth impeaching, but to claim it was a perfect call leaves me feeling disoriented and sick.

There is a thing in ethics training that says "avoid even the appearance of impropriety". When Trump asked someone we is dependent on us for survival to do us a favor and look into a political rival, he should have known that even if he didn't mean it improperly, an overly solicitous Ukraine wouldn't risk it. They would bend over backwards. If you can't admit that much, I don't know what to tell you.

Truth is truth. I don't hold Biden on a pedestal, he lied about the generals telling him to withdraw from Afghanistan for instance. I can admit he lied and if you have evidence, then impeach him. Really, and truly. If he's a rat, he's a rat. As far as money from China, etc. You need proof, because let me tell you, it turns out impeaching a president is hard.

They never went anywhere because they were worried they might actually stick.

Honestly, I sort of respected Pelosi and moderate democrats more after that. She pushed back on impeaching for forever. Most of us didn't believe her that Republicans would just vote party lines, and that if forced to look at the evidence, they would convict. Ah, the innocence of youth.

But, it turns out she was right, wasn't she? So, in hindsight she actually knew what she was talking about and wasn't just trying to do nothing.

Just my two cents on the takeaways from that whole thing.

Pelosi held back on it till it was working against her, then she rushed it, left off other impeachable offenses, made it a single easy whch was easy to beat, didn't do diddly to make Trump & Co show up, then held back on turning it over to the Senate because that sure was gonna convince them to vote against Trump, eh?

She - like the rest of them, is a faker and a liar. And she - like the rest of them, made a crap ton of personal profit off the tax cut and other Trump gifts to the rich and oligarch class.

And anyone who thinks Capt Blunderpuss Biden is just an idiotic dolt who's accidentally mucking things up nicely to foster the GOP sweeping 2022 and Trump winning again in 2024 is every bit as amazingly stupid as they were in 2016 and 2020 - the latter witnessing unseating Trump only because of this Covid thingy, otherwise we'd be off to some reeducation camp right now and Dear Leader would be ruling totally by decree.

Nah. The first impeachment was extremely well done. People saw what they wanted to see and voted almost entirely along party lines. Waiting would have served nothing and adding more charges would have just muddied the waters. Second guessing it in hindsight should be done with caution. If she had waited and they hadn't removed him people would have said they waited to long. To many charges and they confused things.

No, it was limited and botched from the get go - BY DESIGN.

Article I, Section 5, Clause 2 requires concurrence of 2/3 to expel a member. We don't have the votes for that.

Only two have been expelled since the civil war, and they were both Democrats.

I see the temptation to see it how you do, but what specifically would you have had them do differently? Witnesses were blocked and that wasn't going to change. We had a transcript that came straight from the WH and both congress and the electorate pretended it didn't say what it said. We had text messages and people who participated in it and worked for Trump saying that his intent was quid pro quo. For the other charges, what evidence was going to convince them when all that didn't?

Perhaps doing what they're paid to do for once?

If it takes growing a nutsack to do it, then maybe they should try?

And as wacky as it sounds, then try roleplay - pretend they're Republicans, or even, EGADS! even Trump himself, who keeps getting his way because - as ridiculous as it still sounds - the entire world (except Donny's fave dictators) quaked in their booties that Trump might Tweeter them.

But of course they weren't, that was just the excuse, and from subpeonas to the DOJ and the Supreme Court they knew exactly what to do, but as the refrain from Clinton's days goes, "We'll compromise with them and give them what they want now in the hopes they may return the favor in the future." I fully disagree. I watched the impeachment. Watched witnesses get blocked. There isn't anything different I would have done. The executive branch and the Senate were in Republican hands. The house did everything they could.

Everything they could... to accommodate them.

Democrats are little more than Republican lite, and more so their ever sooooo reluctant stooges. Clinton was glorious... "Don't twist my arm, I'll sign it..."
