As someone who considers myself a feminist, it kinda sucks. A lot of us are actually against misandry/radfem, and we want to solve issues like SA (for all genders), and the gender wage gap, along with things like gender roles. It kinda sucks when a (generally) positive movement gets made into something to just laugh at because of some dumb wording. I know that I don’t really give a crap that it’s called menu instead of womenu or stuff like that, and I know plenty of feminists, men and women, that don’t really care about that stuff either.

i too am a feminist, and i believe wholeheartedly in gender and racially equality but i also find those memes hilarious. i think the reason that people make the memes and find them funny is bc of toxic/radical feminists. i grew up around those types of feminists and as a man it made me feel lesser when women in my family made me out to be a bad person bc i was born a guy and o was inherently bad. they also loved to use the phrase “kill all men” which was definitely disturbing to me. so i didn’t use to be a feminist or believe in the movement until i met feminists that were for equality and not women>men

Understandable. Even as a girl, I was honestly against feminism until I learned about non-radical feminists, because I had seen the people who were toxic and said “kill all men”, or the ones who just want an excuse to say “eww boys”. I think those memes would be funnier if people said “toxic feminists” or “misandrists” instead of just “feminists”, because it lumps the good ones in with all the rest.

yeah, but i know what kind of feminists they’re talking abt and i don’t think the memes would be as good if they did say like toxic feminists but i get what you’re saying
