"common-sense gun control" combined with defunding the police.

I know that I talk a lot of smack about blue state Colorado, but at least there are armed security on the commuter trains here. Mostly they look for people that didn't pay their fare, but they are armed and would, I hope, stop a rape in progress.

That's good stuff.
I used to ride the train into NYC, then use the subway to get around. But not anymore, thanks to the idiot de Blasio, the worst calamity to befall the city in recent years. Now it's dangerous to go there, and simply pointless anyway.

Yeah, Denver's getting there too. I actually have not taken the train in years, but took it a couple of days a week when I was going to college. An annual pass was included in our tuition bill, so I figured I might as well take the train instead of using my own gas & paying for parking.

"All it takes for evil to succeed is if good men do nothing." I don't remember who said that or even if I am quoting it correctly but the idea is true.

That's a bit of a stretch. Anyone with a concealed carry on that bus should have shot Mr. Fiston Ngoy. But then, they also should have intervened hand to hand. Or with pepper spray. Or with a taser.

ah more guns is always the answer

It's easy for imgflip libs to talk shit, because you're stupid and you have so little life experience. But in the real world, people don't confront violent criminals unless they have a weapon which allows them to take charge of the situation.
Maybe someday you'll grow up, and you'll know better.

Does your logic get better when you have a weapon too?

No. Your chance of surviving confronting a violent criminal gets better.

Logic thinking could have told you that.

Does calling 911 in this situation lower your chances of survival?

If a violent and armed criminal notices, yes.

Being brave in front of a keyboard and a screen is one thing, being brave in real life is quite another.

Um, thanks for the comment. What point are you trying to make? Are you aware of the story? Passengers filmed the attack but didn't call 911.

That part is disgusting.

So, wouldn't it have been better if at least one passenger had had a gun, instead of a cell phone? That's the point of the post, and that is also my point.

If you attack a violent criminal, you do have something to lose. Your consciousness. Your health. Possibly your life.

That should be obvious, even to Captain Obvious.

Thanks again for spelling out the obvious. The only problem with logic presented here is the assumption that no one did anything out of fear. They weren’t afraid to film the event so why were they then afraid to call the police. Would it have been better if they had a gun? They didn’t even use the tool at hand. Doesn’t sound like the best people to be wielding guns in my opinion.
