Belief has very little to do with it. Trump will not be reinstated unless he runs for President again. However, I don’t think he will succeed in gaining enough of the electoral vote as he was able to do in 2016. True, he was the unpopular choice - as the popular vote reflected twice. He had a chance to increase his popularity during his presidency but his antics seemingly had no broadening appeal. It is crucial for Presidents to represent all the people and electing wild cards or radical figures is often a huge gamble. They need to be moderate to have a broader appeal - like most Presidents often do to secure the popular vote and the electoral vote.
Biden had the advantage of the popular vote in 2020 thanks in large part with Trump and Republican’s being rather quiet as to their official positions. Surrendering to “Trumpism” (whatever that means) and failing to put forth any real objectives or concerns moving forward with the country to get Trump a second term was a very lazy move. Biden may not have that same advantage in 2024 as his challenges will arguably be much harder than anything Trump had to wrestle with for four years. While Biden won’t have to constantly battle with most mainstream media, the fallout of his policies being felt by the economy and the overall productivity of the American experience will not allow him to keep the popularism he got in 2020. All Republicans need to get Biden out is put forth any candidate that isn’t Trump (or one of his copycats) and Biden will be a one-term President.
No matter how bad Biden will become, it will never make Trump look better, nor will it address any of the criticisms the majority had with his presidency. Trump’s lack of experience, lack of leadership, and his complete denial of reality will never be made better by any misguided liberal policies. Republicans painfully need a popular candidate and throwing their lot in with Trump shows just how desperate they are and how they’ve lost their way. It isn’t Republican’s conservative or moderate policies thar make them unpopular but their choice to regulate social matters that kill their broadening appeal. Once they finally realize this, we can get a two-term Republican President once more.
