Oh! Yeah, no, I agree. US censorship is minor-league compared to China, no doubt. They're on a whole other level! It's my hope that is we can get enough of our citizenry to quash it at the relatively small levels it's at now, so we won't become like China. But... that takes a well informed population and the willingness to take personal responsibility for one's life rather let Big Daddy government dictate what is/isnt' allowed in every facet of our existence. That regrettably seems to be a tall order in the current year.

Isnt a grab for power from both sides, and us citizens are the damage?

Whoever controls the language has inordinate control over thought... censorship definitely could be considered a bid for control/power... but that's just my opinion. When you start talking about censorship, authoritarianism shouldn't be far behind in the conversation. When authoritarianism becomes the norm - or even acceptable - it will always be the citizens who pay the dearest price... especially those who commit the thought crimes by not towing the line.

You donโ€™t have to be a customer to assess motive and intent. Facebook is a leftist org that tries to control the narrative and influence thought by censorship. It is insanely unamerican and needs regulation. I donโ€™t know why anyone would use it but just like the phone company they should not be able to censor your communications.

Its not a utility. The internet is. That is like saying Maytag is a utility. If the phone company had an interactive phone book, it would be their responsibility to only print facts, which is working numbers to the correct station. If they couldnt verify the number, it would get dropped. Is that censoring? No, it is having integrity for their product.

Now, Facebook doesnt publish facts, they publish people lives. Much more subjective, than numbers and "did I get the right station?"

The lives are Facebook's products. If Facebook doesnt like YOUR PRODUCT, they pull your product from the shelves.

I dont shop at walmart, because I dont care for their store products. I shop Publix because I like their store brands. Neither are Government sponsored businesses. We have the choice to go to either.

I choose not to shop at Facebook.

We, sir can only keep railing against Facebook , I agree. But the censoring route is a dead end at a brick wall.

The reality is that social media platforms are more similar to the tv or phone companies than Maytag. The phone company canโ€™t limit the service you are provided because they donโ€™t like what you say on the phone. Time for common sense reform of public access and TOS and repeal of immunity. If you are pushing a narrative you are a publisher even if you only publish the work of others.
