Haven't seen a single cicada all year. But what you gotta do is get some chickens and let them take care of it; cicadas make for pretty good chicken feed.

I am in Rhode Island. No cicadas here thus far

In Texas, we have them - but they're better than the cicadas in Las Vegas. Here in Texas, they synchronize their "song" in local groups - so you can hear your nearby group, and you can also hear groups further away.

In Las Vegas - the entire town, all cicada synchronized and it was this neverending, inescapable, mind-numbing, monotonous, rhythmic noise......

My brother and I would lay in the front yard and shoot them out of the tree with a bb-gun......this is, of course, before Las Vegas lost its cheap water and everyone had a lawn, and it wasn't (practically) illegal to have a swimming pool.....

Ah...the good old days.

Apparently you shouldn’t eat them if you have a shrimp allergy, which is interesting.

I know shrimp and lobsters are the cockroach of the sea but bugs are a step too far.

That's how I feel too

Ye at least lobsters and shrimp have actual muscle to them.

I’ve seen smaller cicadas, but I haven’t experienced any 17-years so far…

I'm in southern Canada and we have had one big swarm and we've been hearing them but not any more than usual

We have a few but not the 17 year swarm. We had ours a couple years ago, and even then they didn't seem as prolific as they have been in the past. To me, it's just the sound of summer, sort of comforting really.

I got some relatives that get swarmed by cicadas in Pennsylvania, but not me myself. They've got good stories about it too... like the time a couple scheduled their wedding during the 13-year (I think) cicadas...

I’ve only had to deal with the background noise they make here in Ohio, but no I most certainly have not thought about eating them...

I’ve seen them

My friends in the East have dogs that are eating lots of them—then, barfing them up. G-R-O-S-S!
