I've finally lost faith in him after these emails have come to light. It seems like he wants more to be seen as the man who saved the world from COVID with his vaccines than to actually save the world by pushing for the most effective treatment strategy and most thorough investigation into its source.

i don't get that at all. he's doing a thankless job under very difficult circumstances and what can he really do in the US about a virus sourced in China?

i'll add that i don't see anything in his record that suggests misconduct, or even poor judgment based on the info he had at the time with the exception of the advice that fully vaccinated people can now unmask. i'm sure he had reasons for that advice (maybe that it would encourage the fearful to get vaccinated). but i think it encourages unvaccinated people to not wear masks, and that's plainly not desired.

He's vacillated on everything he has said publicly. No masks/masks. Asymptomatic's are safe/asymptomatic's are not safe. And now we find out that he knew that the virus was leaked from a lab, the very same lab he got taxpayer dollars sent to.

This has all of the makings of a conspiracy theory as if Fauci funded the creation of a virus that was released on the world.

we don't know any such thing, yet anyway. and he heads the Institute but that doesn't mean he sent funding to Wuhan. it's more likely that the grant application was reviewed and recommended by a committee of virologists and he approved it. that's how NIH generally works.

We do know that the NIH, under Fauci, was sending taxpayer money to the labs in Wuhan. That is a fact that you can easily research. I really don't care what the reason was because why would we help China develop deadly viruses when a branch of that lab looks at how to weaponize the virus for use by the Chinese military. Even if none of our money funded that branch we should have never given that lab anything.

i already researched it. that grant was given in the early 2000s, presumably to foster international partnership and presumably because it was more competitive than other grant applications aiming to fight the covid 1 virus.

Are you familiar at all with how communism works? The government owns EVERYTHING. The Chinese government owns the Wuhan lab. Just that fact alone should be enough.

The Wuhan lab is a series of buildings each with it's own purpose. One building in particular is used to produce and test weaponized versions of viruses for military applications.

That fact that you find this incredulous means that you aren't aware of how every military in every nation with a military works. Even our own military is involved with weaponizing viruses, bacteria and other microorganisms.

Using viruses in warfare dates back to medieval times when corpses of those who died of the bubonic plague were catapulted over castle walls to infect the people inside the castle.

The Wuhan lab may not be the only facility in China that does this type of viral research for the military but it is certainly one of them.

I never said that the entire lab was dedicated to weaponizing viruses. As as far as evidence, are you living under a rock or something. What part of Communist China do you not understand? Do you think China is a benevolent nation filled with love and peace? Tell that to the Uyghurs.

Of course China has been and is currently involved in developing weaponized viruses and one of the facilities is a part of the Wuhan lab.

by your argument, my lab, by being located in America, is doing warfare research. but it isn't.

The best thing anyone did for me to keep me safe was me. I knew how flu viruses were spread and the coronavirus is a lot like the common flu. I don't need anyone in the government to tell me how to be safe.

Why were doctors banned from prescribing hydroxychloroquine when it helped about 75% of her patients recover much faster?

I really think far too much politics entered into Americas response to this pandemic. It is too bad it had to happen in an election year, especially considering the extreme hatred the left had over Trump. They tried everything they could think of to pin this pandemic on him. If this hadn't been an election year and there was either a Democrat president or a Republican president that the Dems weren't so rabid against (if that is even possible) then maybe a lot more lives would have been saved. Democrats are disgusting when it comes to votes. They have absolutely no concern for people's lives, livelihood, safety or anything else if it gets in their way or makes their poll numbers go down. I know the FDA didn't ban it because my sister has been taking HCQ before and during the pandemic for rheumatoid arthritis. But left leaning hospital administrators and clinics did ban its use for COVID-19. That is how Dr. Gold lost her job. She refused to stop treating COVID-19 patients after being told to stop.

He lied about Ted Cruz during the 2016 primaries and then had the nerve to call Cruz "Lyin' Ted". Cruz was perhaps one of the most honest politicians to run for office in a very long time. Trump has said some awful things about women. That is one of the reasons why I didn't vote for him in 2016.

He was a Democrat the majority of his life and when he started his presidential campaign as a Republican most everything he said sounded like the stereotype the left has painted conservatives to be. I thought he was a fake Republican and once he got in office he would turn back to his Democrat ideals.

After he became president he did some bad things that I do not approve of but all in all he was a better president than Hillary would have ever been and so much better than what Biden has shown to be. There are two reasons why the economy rebounded under Trump, 1) Hillary lost to a Republican. That alone caused a huge sigh of relief in the business world. They didn't have to worry about Hillary punishing businesses like Obama did. They begin to expand and in doing so it created a ton of jobs. 2) Trump lowered corporate taxes. Prior to Trump our corporate taxes were the highest in the world which was absolutely pathetic considering that we call ourselves the "land of the free". Freedom is the opposite of taxation.

COVID-19 unfortunately hit in an election year (perhaps it was planned, I have no idea). But everything the Dems, the media and the entertainment industry has said about Trump was said to make him lose the election. That includes how he handled the pandemic. The fact of the matter Trump didn't do anything different than any other president.

When Ebola made it to the US Obama did absolutely nothing but no one criticizes him for that. Ebola is far deadlier than COVID-19 ever was.

They have declared themselves a public forum and not a publisher. As a public forum they are immune from copyright infringement. People can post copyrighted material and FB is not liable. But in order for this to happen they cannot control the content that people post. People are allowed, at this point, to exercise their 1st amendment rights without interference, even if they are knowingly or unknowingly lying.

If they want to control the content on their site then they need to change to a publisher. However, they lose immunity from copyright infringement if they did that.

Who ever said their "fact" checkers were the arbiters of truth? I have seen the "fact" check posts be provably false on many occasions. Every conservative already new long before FB started using them that Snopes and FactCheck dot org were nothing but left wing propaganda tools. And FB relies heavily on them for their fact checks. If you want to know is something is an urban legend or not then Snopes is fine but if you want to know if some Democrat molested a child or promoted some control freak piece of legislation then you're not going to find the truth there at all.
