Even if you don't get one, you should read up on how they did it. It was pretty amazing. This is pretty much the fastest the human race as been able to create a vaccine. Part of it was how much genetic similarity it had to other COVID strains.
The mRNA vaccine approach used by Pfizer and Moderna is just beautiful.
They pretty much just made a batch of the part of the virus that makes it contagious, but only that part so you aren't actually injected with COVID, just that piece.
So now if you are exposed to COVID, your body recognizes and produces antibodies based on that piece. In theory, if the virus were to mutate and that bit were to change, it would almost certainly become less infections.
It is such a neat way of addressing the problem.
