And the public schools are disastrously bad and the roads are falling apart.

Maybe your point isn’t as good as you thought.

Right? Single payer healthcare will make VA care look like Cadillac Care.

Free college for everyone will make college campuses look like your average high school.

The insurance company healthcare system in the US is a dumpster fire. Literally if u cant afford to shell out loads of money you just die. Every other country laughs when they hear about healthcare system

They are funded by tax payers. I have no problem paying taxes for roads and basic schooling, however I do have issues with paying for people to get worthless degrees such as liberal arts, or paying for stupid people's hospital bills.

It’s called taxes. It’s what working people pay so losers who don’t work can get free shit.

That's a really dumb interpretation of taxes. Do you know how roads cost. Can you pay to build your own roads which probably cost millions of dollars? Probably not. That's why we have taxes. To build around us. It's not just free stuff. Do you think all things funded by gov't are just free shit? By your logic only people who can afford private school should get an education

Taxes for the common good are not the issue. Roads are a common good elementary education and even community college are a common good. Taxes to personally benefit you with handouts is not “common good” it’s free stuff for you on everyone else’s dime. Freeloading is enshrined in democratic slaves.

How are healthcare and higher education not common good? Those are necessities that benefit us all. If you want to debate higher education or maybe you just think it should be cheaper then sure. But healthcare is a basic necessity that benefits us all. All of our taxes contribute to the basic necessity of accessible healthcare which benefits us all. Why do you think something as important as healthcare is just a free handout. It's a necessity. No one's saying the government should give everyone ferarris and ps5s

Free healthcare is paid for by those that work and produce. More and more people want to live on the dole and not contribute. Free healthcare for those who work or contribute in some way. Not for government paid gender reassignment surgeries for homeless bums.

Of course it will be paid by people who work. That's how taxes work. Sure there will be people who don't contribute to society who will freeload, but that happens with all taxpayer funded things. Just because there are some people who freeloaders doesn't mean everyone should be stuck having to pay for outrageously expensive healthcare. You think there aren't freeloaders who use roads or lazy students who slack off in public schools. But that doesn't mean we get rid of roads or public schools, just because there's a minority of lazy people. Also what you don't understand, is that not everyone who doesn't contribute to society is just a lazy freeloader who wants to live off others. For multiple reasons people are unable to work. You can't group every person who doesn't contribute to society as a lazy freeloader.

And obviously free healthcare is only going to pay for essential healthcare. Free healthcare isn't going to be used to pay for botox, plastic surgery, gender reassignment, etc. Those will be private out of pocket costs

So the real Answer is to make healthcare more affordable by reigning in big pharma and medical Monopolies. Obama care has no such limitations on elective surgery to
My knowledge. Socialized medicine is great for broken bones and simple illness. Not so great for serious illness as the government triages people based on money allocated for those kind of procedures. Having the government pay for healthcare until the country falls under the control of a leftist totalitarian.

That's definitely a great start. The main thing is getting rid of health insurance companies. Obviously the government should regulate hospitals to prevent them from overcharging the government for healthcare. The government unlike private health insurance companies won't provide better healthcare for the rich. Private health insurance companies literally provide better healthcare based on how much you can pay

The government will not provide any better care for anything. They are highly inefficient. The issue is coverage not quality of care. Anyone who thinks the governemnt will provide quality efficient care is deluded. They aren’t capable of it.

What's the point of great quality coverage when it's unaffordable?
0 ups, 3y
As I said it’s about coverage not quality. The Socialization will not increase the quality of care. It will diminish it in many ways. The coverage is what needs to be increased and controlling of costs. You do this by limiting lawyers and insurance companies who feed of the profession.

Roads are typically funded by gas taxes...let's hope those electric vehicles pay a premium up front for using our roads, because they aren't paying for it on the back end, like the rest of us do!!

How schools are funded, depends on your LOCAL government. They get Federal funding depending in how well they perform against Federal standards.

So really, it is all A LOCAL.PROBLEM, NOT THE FEDS.

Who forced you to attend college?

The desire to go up in career prospects. Can you become a doctor, lawyer, or engineer without a degree? No. So by your logic only rich people should have those jobs, and everyone else should just go into labor, trade, construction etc. after grade school

If you want to become a lawyer or a doctor you go to college whether you're rich or not. But again, no one is forcing you to attend. And if you do go, you pay the cost. As a tax payer I shouldn't have to pay for other people to attend.

Why not? It's a common good. A more educated and skilled workforce is good for society as a whole. Also you pay so people can attend public school? How is higher education any different

1) Public school is public and all are allowed to attend. College and universities are private entities and not all are accepted in.

2) School at the K-12 grade is mandatory, while college is a choice.

3) Tax payers would have to pay for other people to attend and school that isn't mandatory. This in turn raises taxes. Taxes that are already way too high.
