I’m alright with the verdict; if you think I’m making excuses - facts are not those.
I believe the trial was moot. As a juror in a trial like that - you know a few things. One is depending on your verdict - you place yourself and your family at risk of mob violence.
Do you really think a jury can make a sound verdict when you have heightened security guarding the courthouse, an angry mob outside expecting a specific outcome, a Congresswoman calling for an outcome or else, threats made to individuals who have testified in the case, etc? I could go on.
It’s fair to say that there is no way one is subject to a fair trial when the media portrays someone (officers, specifically) as guilty even before a trial begins.
Now, one has to prove their innocence - not the other way around.
It’s a modern day witch-hunt.
