We're the opposite. Most people become conservatives out of fear. A study in infants found that infants that cried when separated from their mother became conservative.

If there isn't already background checks then what was all those papers I had to fill out when I bought my little SR9c? Or is it different in other places?
Also it would be significantly more useful if those children flipped all the desks over and then hunkered behind it. I was shooting at a little 2 by 4 set up on the ground about seven yards away with my 9mm and was finding the bullets on top of the ground behind the 2 by 4. So it didn't stop it but it greatly slowed it down. A lot of wooden desks would probably stop bullets.
