According to the ever reliable CNN (https://www.cnn.com/2021/03/23/us/boulder-colorado-shooting-suspect/index.html):
"A report from a police officer included in the case file says Alissa "got up in (a) classroom, walked over to (the) victim & 'cold-cocked' him in the head."
Alissa "got on top of (the victim) & punched him in (the) head several more times," the report says, adding that the victim "had bruising, swelling & cuts to (the) head, as well as pain."
"No witnesses could see or hear any reason" for the attack, and Alissa said the victim "had made fun of him & called him racial names weeks earlier," the officer wrote.
Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, born 4/17/99, assaulted a classmate in Nov of 2017. Although still in high school, he was an adult at the time of the assault.
So, what the hell happened here? I don't know, but I'll absolutely speculate,
In my opinion, he should have been charged with felony assault (maybe he was?) for attacking his classmate. I'll speculate that a woke, progressive, liberal DA in Boulder either only charged him with third degree assault, or plea-bargained the charge down to third-degree assault (which is not a felony in Colorado, but a Class 1 Misdemeanor instead) for no reason other than not wanting to appear Islamophobic.
Had he been (correctly, imo) charged and convicted of a felony, he would not have been able to buy the gun. We have plenty of gun control laws on the books already, and I think that if enforced, along with other laws that work in conjunction, this killing likely would have been prevented. More laws are not the answer, and neither is taking guns away from law abiding citizens.
So yes, (imo) political correctness strikes again, this time costing ten human beings their lives.
