Yeah, I’m not seeing how Biden voters are the true silent majority. Sure, it was the majority, but it wasn’t exactly silent. Trump supporters use the term silent majority in reference to the fact that most cultural institutions like Hollywood, social media, news organizations, and universities are predominantly left wing, while the people who got Trump elected in 2016 were those who generally keep their heads down and avoid politics for the most part. They have Fox News and Rush Limbaugh, but other than that, there just isn’t a right wing equivalent to what the left holds in cultural power. However, they still overcame the left and elected Donald Trump, hence the term silent majority. Fast forward to 2020. The same cultural institutions have had four years of smears to build off of, as well as a pandemic. They have been blaring nonstop that orange man bad, and this time around, they succeeded. Not exactly silent if you ask me. Also, popular presidents aren’t generally booed. I believe Trump got booed once at a Nationals game, which makes sense seeing as he is smeared as a fascist and most people generally see what the news is and uncritically accept it as fact, plus the Nationals play in Washington, a very left wing city. But I certainly wouldn’t deny Trump is controversial and wasn’t this unifying figure that people generally romanticize the President to be.
