Trump made a video condemning that violence too, but when Twitter deleted it and no American news media reported it, I had to go to BBC and Sydney Morning Herald to find that out.

Yeah, I’m beginning to think the real reason Twitter suspended his account is so people can’t go back and look at what he actually posted. Now the leftist media can spin their hype about what Trump said on Twitter and we can’t verify if it’s true.

Convictions are a nasty thing in politics.

I don’t think having a conviction is nasty. I can support free speech rights of people I disagree with. I hold that as a conviction. Ie something I feel strongly about. Maybe your confusing beliefs with convictions.

Convicted politicians in a court of law often see minor setbacks as well.

Politics is about compromises and while there is nothing inherently wrong with convictions, strong convictions are more a detriment to politicians. This is usually why they speak so frequently indifferently to simple “yes” or “no” questions.

The ability to discern what is a personal conviction that should not be forced on others and constitutional convictions that should be supported by everybody is the reason for the current situation. People get the two mixed up. I shouldn’t have to live by your convictions and you shouldn’t have to live by mine as long as we share in common the conviction that all men are created equal and entitled to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Equality and freedom of speech, religion and belief.

Absolutely agree that people mix that up.

"Most conservatives have already condemned the violence" where? I know many of the big names have but the Arizona GOP hasn't. I think the Missouri GOP or another state is still posting crazy shit about staying locked and loaded and rallying around yer family with a pocket full of shells. There isn't nearly enough condemnation, especially here where at first it was accusations of Antifa being paid actors then it was whataboutyourriots and our "property damage was lower" now we're back to "just wait until the next revolution."

It makes no sense.
