Blame the state governors, not Trump. Trump didn't order a single lockdown. That was a state decision.

Well that certainly was the wrong impression to give. When Trump said he was prepared, all he could legally mean was that he and the Feds were standing by to help states with money and resources, not state plans or anything. Everything else within each state is up to its own governor.

His ability/inability to lock the borders early is a separate issue, with its own myriad of 'whodunnit' causes.

There's been a Republican offer on the table that would get money to all the folks who need it...the Democrat offer includes a lot of extra money for partisan projects of theirs. If they truly cared about we the people they'd have approved the Republican offer (which helps us) and worked on their own pet projects another time.
