"think"

"thing" is what you call an object

and if it's unproven science, then surgeons are out of a job I guess

I fail to see the problem: it works in extreme cases, but it doesn't work normally?

so instead of arguing that masks don't work, you argue that they're not needed? you're wrong on both accounts, but at least announce that you've changed the topic!

Ok, Boomer. Have you done something that doesn't exclusively benefit yourself yet?

so you just went on a way too long rant on me being a "good person"? the best thing is if I defend myself, it'll just look like I'm proving your point. damned if you do, damned if you don't. so I'll just repeat my previous question: have you done anything that doesn't exclusively benefit yourself yet?

it's not about being selfless, it's about not being selfish. why do rightwingers always have to argue technicality?

Did you ever read the label on the box of masks?

New CDC study found that 85% of covid cases 'wore a mask all the time'. Sorry the science says masks don't help.

did you even read what I said?

the point made in that comment is completely irrelevant, which the commenter had known if they had basic reading comprehension. I said "masks don't protect you, they protect others from you" and they said "people wearing masks aren't well protected" tell me: how does that follow?

1. if they understood me, why make an irrelevant response?
2. what about me literally stating that masks don't protect you, makes you think I believe that masks protect you?
3. if a surgeon wearing a mask can protect you from infection despite a gaping wound, shouldn't it protect you even better normally?
4. what freaking risk? it's a go***mn piece of cloth! stop whining about imaginary danger!

the first two are the problem I've had this entire argument: READ damn it!

don't change topics un-announced at 3. I thought you said masks don't work because we don't have gaping wounds, which makes no sense.

you're not supposed to wear your mask for long, that's why you're told to stay home.

and you're the one who is told to do a low risk/low effort thing that could potentially save lives and thinks they're energy is better spent on mental gymnastics to justify whining about it

Yes, and I know the science. It doesn't work that way. The only way to be safe from covid is a level 3 biohazard suit.
You don't seem to understand so I'll spell it out for you. Your eyes have a viscous substance on them that keeps them moist. The virus can enter and exit from your eyes. You have moisture in your ears which the virus can enter/exit from. You have pores all over your exposed skin that emit moisture (sweat) that the virus can enter/exit from. Masks do not protect anyone.

the only openings it can move long distances from are the mouth and nose though, due to the force of exhalation, THAT'S what masks protect you from

someone else already gave you an answer. point is sweat, earwax, whatever else can carry the virus doesn't travel, your breath does. here's an experiment for you: hold your hand in front of you're face, exhale for as long as you can, slowly move your hand in the direction of the stream of air. when you stop feeling the stream, that's the MINIMUM distance the virus can travel

They free float in the air and are swirled around by our every movement. They can travel 47 feet before being rendered uninfectable. Its 6 feet in direct sunlight.

Which is not the same as saying 85% of maskers catch covid.
0 ups, 4y
Which is not what I said. 85% of people that caught covid wore masks all the time. That means the masks didn't protect them. I would hazard a guess to say that 85% of people chose to wear masks in the same areas.
