It's less swampy than it's been in years. The reason Trump is under such fire from the media, the "Democrates" 😉 and non-appointed govt employees (a component of what is sometimes called the deep state) is because he is an absolute existential threat to their corrupt way of doing things.
I know what you'll say. You'll say Trump has his own corrupt way of doing things, and that's a discussion to have. But the bottom line is the elites from the previous administration attempted a not so soft coup against him, before he even got into office. It seems like every week we're seeing more and more evidence about that being released. The Durham report cannot come soon enough, imo. Although I heard that it's now not expected until after the election, which probably means Durham isn't interested in politics, but the truth instead.
You're right about Trump in the sense that it will be interesting to see what happens to the party once he's no longer president. He's given them a blueprint for success, but he's such a singular figure that I think it's fair to say that not just anybody can pull off what he's done. Pence? Hardly.
