Again, if drugs are legal, the free market will make the drugs less addictive, to the point where over time, they'll become forms of medicine that are used to heal.
Drug addiction spreads its way to kids because the addicts think that it's OK to let kids do drugs, not because the addicts are bad persons. Would you want to kill everyone who has a disease just because diseases are contagious? If addiction is a disease pandemic like many claim, then it should be treated as a disease, not as a crime.
And most importantly, the reason why drug addicts commit non-drug-related crimes is that the drugs being illegal (and thus addictive, but it's also because it's a black market) makes them expensive. Therefore, the addicts will want to steal to get more drug money.
