He thinks if he puts what he remembers something to be inside quotation marks that it then becomes a quote.

Now if you want people to believe what you write it makes sense to quote what was said, lift it direct from where it comes. If it's word for word then anyone can find it even if tit's not the article you read. Get it? Got it?

It doesn't piss me off to be reading your incorrect quote, it pisses me off that you quote it like it was the fact. Misquotes don't make facts and you won't win anyone over with the wrong info. If your reciting from memory which is more or less what the particular example is then it would be advisable to write "I'm paraphrasing".
Also when you quote a part of a statement you should put ellipsis or 3 dots ... to indicate that there is more to the quote but that you have only put the most relevant part. They are not supposed to be used if the meaning is altered but if you were using part of a quote then the people could go find the rest which you omitted and decide themselves whether your quoted portion alters context.
We all have heard the things Trump says, personally I think McCain is a Traitor and there are many other things I dislike about his conduct and the evidence suggests he sang like a canary when in captivity. I cant say I might not have complied with the captors requests either if it was life or death but his record is what it is.
You see what you find terrible isn't what everyone else finds terrible and we Trump supporters are not listening anymore to the constant lies or exagerations which are made about what Trump said. The MSM has attacked him more than anyone ever before and I would add that many block out what the MSM have to say because we do not trust them to provide truth or accuracy in their reported information. They never just say what was said they provide their opinion for the little minds without much critical thinking skill to absorb and repeat. You know Orange Man Bad.
So hopefully you understand the purpose of the comment and why I didn't write it toward you because it takes too long to explain. But I will repeat, do as you do that's your choice but don't expect people to believe it just because you wrote it. Your point is best made with the whole information not your recall even if it characterizes most of the statement.
