Jake Gardner | RIP Jake Gardner; A Marine, An Iraq War Veteran, a small business bar owner in Omaha, Nebraska. Gardner pointed his gun over his shoulder and shot James Scurlock, killing him. It was ruled as a CLEAN CUT case of self defense. 3 months later, a BLM mob showed up to Omaha District Attorney's office DEMANDING Gardner to be arrested. The DA caved, and arrested Gardner for manslaughter and TERRORISM. His Gofundme was taken down. He lost his business due to his lease being terminated. So sad. I did not even hear about this. I do not watch the news anymore so I was not aware of this. Thanks for posting. Our society is being ruined by a few billionaires who want to destroy our country.

I don't watch much news any more, either. I do try to keep up a bit online though.

I suspect it wouldn't matter either way as the media has no interest in reporting a death like this.

The media are shameful.

you guys see to have no problem with good people dying either, like breonna taylor, Michael brown, trayvon martin, Ahmad arbery, and more. And I doubt you would have given a rat's ass about him if he was a liberal. I doubt you even give a f*ck about his actual life. You just want to use someone as an excuse to hate the black lives matter movement.

Michael Brown, gentle giant, turning his life around, Hands Up Don't Shoot. Only black citizens testified that that was a lie.

Travon Martin was beating George Zimmerman's head on the sidewalk, when he was shot in self defense.

Breonna Taylor, was with her boyfriend (who was dealing drugs and shot at the Police). Police returned fire and she was killed. It is reported that she was also dealing drugs.

Ahmed Abrey, was unjustifiably murdered and his murderer should be found guilty.

I hate what BLM is doing to destroy cities and set Race relations back. I do not hate black people. My neighborhood is a good example of the American melting pot.

I hate that Antifa is using BLM to cover their attempted destruction the fabric of America

I wish BLM would denounce the Rioting, Looting and Burning.

@2ATom

#MichaelBrown- Agreed. Young thug. Tried to steal a cops firearm. I even wrote John Oliver and asked for a retraction, which he didn't have the balls to provide.

#TravonMartin- Disagreed. Travon was stalked and verbally attacked by Zimmerman. He was not on neighborhood watch duty that night. I would've reacted the same way Travon did.

#BreonnaTaylor- Disagreed. Though not all information has surfaced. Still, police training does not include firing into a window. You can't tell if the target is a threat. Imagine a little kid being there ? BTW, the property was a multifamily building. 'KFC' police was EXTREMELY NEGLIGENT when they returned fire. Downright murderous could be argued.

#AhmaudArbery- Agreed to an extent. Extenuating circumstances: He could've been the neighbourhood thief caught by multiple cameras and sought by many neighbours. I heard he was jogging AWAY from a private property when he was harassed by the McMichaels. Aggravating circumstances: McMichael didn't dial 911 before approaching Ahmaud. His post shooting racial slurs could justify murder one charges.

Some MISSED POLICE VICTIMS:

#ElijahMcClain: Most Sadly; plainly murdered by police.

#GeorgeFloyd: Did not resist. Plainly murdered by Sgt Derek Chauvin. He should've gotten murder one.

Some MISSED propped-up martyrs:

#ManuelEllis: High on 'speed' while harassing and provoking police. Not an innocent victim as portrayed on news outlets. Cops could have de-escalated. Possible coverup from police though. Hard to call. But lets be clear, church membership does not an angel make.

#JavierAmbler: Fled from police, causing a car chase. Furthermore, he resisted arrest. Unfortunately he made a fatally bad call when he decided to endanger lives while fleeing.

TAKEAWAYS:
Our Police needs better training
Cameras should be mandatory and recording during action
Black people are disproportionately brutalised by police- proven statistic
Cops of all races are often at risk when working beats where the population is mostly black. They didn't sign up to be gang targets.
High crime rates in largely black demographic areas is a result of institutional racism in the US
Everyone is at least a bit racist. Some people are VERY racist. Cops included
Not all black people killed by police are innocent victims, as BLM has claimed
BLM constantly ignores black on black violence. This affects their credibility
News outlets are cashing in on BLM news
Many companies are using BLM for PR

You would have beat the guy into near unconsciousness, slamming his head on the sidewalk?

I would shoot you too.

@2ATom
Meaning I would have confronted the stalker. If it gets down to ground and pound and you pull a gun on me in that position, you would eat a bullet, even if I catch a 1st shot to the torso.

At some point the incident between Zimmerman and Martin escalated into a violent fist fight. All we have is audio on the final exchange. So we do not know who threw the first punch. No bystanders intervened, so my assumption would be nobody around was close enough to witness the altercation. I heard the tape. 15 seconds was all it took.
Experts could not provide conclusive evidence on who was it screaming for help. Still, I would think the described bruising on Zimmerman would've been way worse if Martin tried to pound Zimmerman's into the ground. I think he was possibly dragged a bit, and punched on the face a few times. Martin would've noticed Zimmerman going for the gun. He would've had a chance to wrestle it away. I call BS on Zimmerman's testimony.

And it was Martin that escalated and the jury acquitted Zimmerman.

I agree that BLM started with good intentions. But what about latinos? Middle easterners? I hate to sound like Tucker Carlson, but should they create their own movements? Isn't that self serving?

Moreover, the BLM leadership has consciously condoned rioting and wanton destruction during their protests, just because they had to satisfy their personal need for militant civil disobedience. What was wrong with protesting peacefully during Daylight ? The very first riot should've been enough cause for BLM leadership to discourage any protesting after curfew.

So I am not a big BLM supporter. I agree with their cause, but not with their methods, or the news coverage they've managed. Let's remember that wise old saying: 'The road to hell is paved with good intentions'.

I have been stopped by both highway patrol and local police multiple times. Not a model driver. But I have always been treated professionally, if not respectfully by police officers in the US. And I am most definitely not caucasian. So not white privilege. Maybe I've just been lucky here at home?

BTW, ask me how Panamanian police singled me for a bribe stop, how I was strip searched by Brazilian police for not speaking fluent portuguese during a taxi ride, and how I was held at gunpoint by German police with Sig 556's for (random my ass) screening.

Listen, there’s absolutely no doubt that the statement “black lives matter” is a fact that everyone should agree with. The movement is completely different. You said “the very first riot should’ve been enough cause for BLM leadership to discourage any protesting after curfew.” Here’s the issue with that: 1. They want chaos and destruction! And 2. There is no leadership! And the middle easterns and Latinos don’t create their own movements for the same reason as white people; we know the country we live in is great, and if we seek change, we do it legally and effectively. I’m not saying that only white people do it right.; there’s black people against the BLM movement. It’s just that there hasn’t been any good, let alone good change, that has resulted from BLM yet.

I apologize for my mistake, Douglas County attorney Donald Kleine ruled the shooting was self-defense but Douglas County District Court Judge Shelly Stratman three months later appointed Fredrick Franklin as a special prosecutor to reopen the case.

Fredrick Franklin, an assistant U.S. attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Omaha, is the one who went for charges after the District Attorney ruled it was self defense.

Its illegal to re-open a case unless it has new charges or new evidence.

Unintelligent, not illegal.

DA's will usually not procedeunless they believe they can win.

In this case the the appointment of a special prosecutor was purely political, and with a stacked jury they would never get an acquittal. The best that would happen is a hung jury.

No its illegal according to the constitution to try someone twice for the same crime. There are also other laws that limit when you can bring lawsuits and criminal suits against the same person.

He was never tried. The DA decided it was a justified shoot and DID NOT file charges. He was not acquitted.

Had he been tried and acquitted, he could never be tried again for that crime even if he went on TV and admitted that it was premeditated murder.

As stated by 2Atom, Judicially speaking, Not double jeopardy. But certainly sad that BLM has all elected officials walking on eggshells and the right to defend life and property is being trampled. Unfortunately, it is not explicit in the constitution. Similar cases have not established a precedent. Barely mentioned in CNN and other news outlets.

My goodness Charles, this is the most coherent and rational post I've ever seen from you.

I'm rough on you when you're wrong, imo, but I have to give it up to you when you're right, imo.

Nice post.

@Fat_Elvis; I just call 'em like I see 'em. I'm essentially conservative leaning. So when the GOP does something right, I'll begrudgingly recognise it. And when someone *important* from the left goes snowflake, I also call it out. Hence my post about Biden being stupid about police training. But I digress. The GOP has always claimed to be the party for higher standards. So when I see the cheating and dirty politics, I just have to call it out. I'm pissed that I'm forced to choose between the lesser of 2 evils from these rotten parties.

I'm also amazed at how biased ALL news outlets have become. It used to be that CNN, CBS and ABC had a little bias towards civil rights (race & sex). Then along came MSNBC and FOX, and they poisoned everything so much, the middle-ground disappeared and we ended up first with a meh president elected mostly because of his race, and as backlash, a dirty realtor, fraudster and egomaniac as current president.

I appreciate the kudos, but like you stated it is Your Opinion when you think I'm wrong. That does not mean I am.

Id like to ask where you're evidence was for some of this. Some judges had someone clear up the video footage and it became clear that he was not firing warning shots, but was firing at James Scurlocks friend. Also Jake has told people that James grabbed him at his neck and when the footage was cleared up it was shown that James had grabbed him around his shoulders to stop him from firing at his friend. Once this was shown it warrented another trial.

If someone grabbed your shoulder from behind, Do you think you would be spun around or able to spin around?

Someone grabbing me from behind in an attempt to imobilize me is a threat.

The mob attacked his aged father. But if someone were to use a slur toward you it would be justification to murder them and burn down their business.

YOU PEOPLE, yeah that is what I said. If the shoe fits...
