I mean, I will take your word for it that you are not a democrat but you should know that the "it is Trump's responsibility" is actually a Democratic talking point.

Responses to pandemics are handled at the state level. The federal government is actually only able to provide additional relieve and/or resources. The whole "separation" of state and national powers comes into play. Anyone who remotely knows how our government works was never really convinced by the Democratic narrative. In fact, that is why Joe Biden had to retract his statement that if he became president, he would mandate masks. The guys at his think tank must have realized the president can't trump the constitution, and actually has limited power in this scenario.

This is why you have 32,000 of the 190,000 deaths from one state alone. Because one governor was dumber than them all. If Trump was truly able to control all aspects of the response, then shouldn't the response be more "spread out?" But it is not. Instead you have the greatest indicator for whether your governor should be re-elected or not.

As far as his "response" is concerned. He did do a good job. Simply google search "Gavin Newsom praises Trump." California is the leading state in cases and the fourth as far as deaths with a 14,000 death toll. Gavin Newsom has asked the federal government, or in other words, our president, for help on multiple occasions and Trump responded well. Hell, I will even link a simple video for you:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64gxCf2m5y4&ab_channel=DonaldJTrump

P.s. Keep in mind, Gavin Newsom has been anti Trump for a long time.

Democratic talking point my ass. Trump is the freaking president of the US and he did NOTHING. Still, doing nothing except make everything worse. Remember when April and the hot weather was supposed to make it all magically go away? Well that didn't happen. And he kept telling his moronic followers that it was a hoax when - as we now know - he knew how bad it really was, so only half the country is still taking the pandemic seriously even though we all know he lied.

Trump told the governors they were on their own and has made it abundantly clear that only the ones kissing his yuge ass will get any help. So yeah, Newsom is doing what he can to get our dictator to fork it over for his citizens. California is the one of the largest states in the country with more residents than the majority of states. California was one of the 13 cities whose airport was designated as a point of return for international travelers bringing the coronavirus flooding in. Texas and Florida are right behind California in positive cases, but Texas has more deaths and Florida has more active cases right now. California has also done twice as many tests as the other two. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/

Oh cool, a meme with no context, no supporting premise and a super vague answer. Do you care to be more specific on what "you believe" the president's specific responsibility is that he failed to do anything on? Good luck and have fun with that one.

And since you think he did nothing, let's have ourselves a comparison of what Trump vs Dems were doing.

As president, it is within his role to handle foreign policy which includes limiting travel. So while Trump banned travel from China, the Dems were busy pursuing a groundless impeachment hearing and telling people he was xenophobic... Glad they weren't in charge.

While he was busy funneling resources to areas that needed it the most, Democratic governors like Cuomo were stuffing older people into nursing homes without being tested first, So yeah, your California argument falls apart because not all 13 cities designated as points of return are doing as bad, only the governors that were dumb. So I really wish he was in charge of those decisions because a lot of people would not be dead if it wasn't up to our governors.

Glad you talked about testing from California because guess what was an big accomplishment of the Trump administration. Building the leading testing system in the world from scratch. Yeah, Obama talked a lot about having a response and coming up with a plan but he never actually did it. So the reason California and America are leaders in testing in their respective corners is because what the Trump administration did.

And last time I checked, the only people who did not receive aid are the dumb Democratic governors who "did not want Trump's help." The only aid on record not provided per request as been riot related. So again, saying it many times doesn't change your lies.

But hey, I already provided enough to show you how dumb your "nothing argument" is. Anything else you want me to dismantle?

There wasn't economic prosperity, that wealth went to the super rich. The laborers still worked their asses off every day

Weird. Last time I checked, the middle class had their average income skyrocket compared to the previous three decades. But I guess like a true Democrat, you ignore the middle class and only care about the rich and poor. You ever think if that was maybe how you lost? Wait... thinking not a strength.

Maybe you should fact check yourself before you repeat to many lies to yourself.

DUDE the average American salary is $56,516. That's terrible man. You'll have student debt, you have to pay for electricity and water. You bought a house depending on what area you might have gotten it for cheap. $100,000 isn't even a lot. Cause you get taxed as well.

Dude, I don't understand what your complaint is then. If that is not a lot, and the Trump presidency is what is making it better, then why vote for Biden (whose administration made it worse and not match inflation)?

If it is too low, then vote for a president that will keep raising it.

Dude no one is making it better and no one is going to make it better. Before the average person could get a home and a car without a loan. Like imagine that. I'm not voting for anyone I could care less for both Trump and Biden.
0 ups, 4y
Seriously? Why can't you do that now? If I didn't have my current salary, I could go out and put $1000 away a month by working two jobs (like I did out of college). Then in 4-5 months, I could buy a 6-7 year old toyota corolla. Spend another two months putting another $2000 in it and it will easily last me another 10 years. No loan required. Are you seriously not able to do that?

And what is with the doom and gloom? No one can make it better? I mean, I think the middle class getting better raises is better but I guess to each his own.

And if you don't plan to vote then why do you complain so much? You given up the opportunity to partake in our Republic when you don't even partake in it. Don't like the candidates, then get involved. Trump happened as a response to what conservatives and the middle class didn't like that Democrats did for 8 years. Why not go out and do something about it? Hell, be a candidate and make your platform. Isn't that way better than just complaining all the time?

it skyrocketed only because Inflation exists, the average American has student debts that they will pay off until they die, same with houses.
1 up, 4y
We are literally outpacing inflation...

And while I agree with you that student debts are out of control (thanks Democrats for taking the limits away from predatory loan agencies), at the end of the day, nobody forced anyone to take the loan. And if someone is so serious about paying off their loans, sack up in a small apartment with 5 friends (so you're paying nothing), then get two jobs until you can manage to get the big boy job and pay off your student loans in two years, like I did.

The fact of the matter is that the vast majority of people in debt are in debt because poor decisions.

What forthelols said. Also unemployment was at record lows, especially among minorities. (Which usually the Democrats would want to push for.)

Imagine handing an article from a far left resource that actually proves the other person's point.

So yes, his statement is correct. Gathering supplies and shipping is not a federal responsibility but a state one. He is however responsible for the armed forces and could, oh, I don't know, send a navy ship equipped to be a mobile hospital:

https://www.navytimes.com/news/your-navy/2020/04/21/navy-hospital-ship-sent-to-nyc-for-outbreak-no-longer-needed-says-cuomo/

So I guess he did "do something" but I guess people are mad he isn't a dictator and doing it all.
