His murderer was arrested less than a week later. If found guilty, he will rot in jail. Justice, at least in the way our criminal justice system defines it, will be served.

Plenty of cause for sorrow, but not for outrage unless the guy walks free. And if he does, there will be outrage.

The guys who murdered Breonna Taylor are walking free, 6 months later. I get that things take longer when police are the shooters, but yeah. Cause for outrage.

What about Daniel Shaver? Why no outrage for him? Oh, that's right, because white lives don't matter.

Charges were brought, the officer was found not guilty, and DoJ stepped in. No need for outrage because again, justice is being served as far as the system allows. No such luck in the Taylor (lack of) case.

If Shaver was black, it’s highly likely it would have gone differently; the process of bringing the officer to trial either wouldn’t have happened at all or would have taken longer, and DOJ wouldn’t have stepped in after the acquittal.

That’s the point. It’s supposed to be the same, and it isn’t.
