I haven't had a chance to read her speech yet. What did she say that showed how racist America is?

She said America wasn't racist, and about 30 seconds later she said her family was discriminated against.

Ahh, thanks for explaining apples. I will definitely look for that when I read her speech.

It does perhaps beg the question, if an act of discrimination = racism? While possibly an interesting subject for discussion among polite circles, here on imgflip, a subject like that wouldn't stand a chance of goingo anywhere productive, imo.

I do wish politicians, and yes that includes Trump since he shoots his mouth off on a regular basis, would choose their words more carefully. At the very least, they need somebody who doesn't agree with them to read their speeches ahead of time, to avoid blatant logical inconsistencies.

The word you're looking for is "critical"

Someone who doesn't agree with them, will let them say dumb shit.

Someone who agrees with them, will let them say dumb shit.

Someone who is critical, will question their dumb shit before they say it.

And to add to what MiniAppleIs posted- she talked about how black lives matter - whether they're black cops who are being killed, or black kids who are being killed- and how a white supremacist shot up a black church which is why they took down the Confederate Flag.

So, yeah, America isn't racist but a lot of black people are being killed every day (and they matter!) and we took down a symbol of a racist institution because another white kid shot a lot of black people.

Dude shot in the back the other day (again for the umteenth time) and this is not the first time black folks have been asked to show id.

"I told them that I was one of seven Black faculty in the College of Arts and Sciences and that our student body population is 2% Black," Morgan said. "I told them that the anti-Blackness they espouse and practice is part of the reason why."

Morgan said that she feared the situation could have been worse.
