Airborne viruses are usually in droplets that fall within six feet.

That's obsolete 1950s science. The overwhelming majority of viruses travel without droplets. A person with the flu can expell viruses by breathing, talking, coughing and sneezing. A mask will not prevent their spread, and the few viruses that are suspended in droplets will be turned into finer droplets by masks, making them lighter and able to travel even further.

I must say, I thought covid was airborne.

But while water droplets may seem like a deciding answer, my question still stands. Dust particles are heavy, and when traveling over an ocean they are bound to get wet. I find it very hard to believe that every single bacteria cell falls to the ground within six feet.

6 feet only works in direct sunlight. Its 47 feet everywhere else.

are you a cdc expert? how do you know thats how it works?

No, I am not an expert. I am just questioning what the CDC, or whoever, said about six feet being sufficient to stop covid.

do you think the cdc wouldnt know how viruses work by the fact that dust gets blown in the wind?

Do you think the cdc would admit it if they didn't know?
Dust has density and yet it can be blown across an ocean. Is it really so outrageous then to question if bacteria stops after six feet? I don't care if an expert said it or not. These experts are saying nothing about the protesting and rioting contributing to the spread of the virus. We have over 170,000 deaths, other countries have much fewer. Perhaps the expertise of the cdc needs to be called into question especially when they say things like this:

yes

if not they would probably admit they didnt know what they were talking about before you, considering how you have no idea what youre talking about.

first off, covid-19 is a virus, not bacteria, but ill let that slide because it doesnt matter. second, covid-19 is transported by aerosolized water droplets. if youve ever used spray paint, understand it does not get picked up by the wind and carried across the ocean. dust is less dense than the stuff that comes out of our mouths. third, experts have looked at how the protests have affected covid-19 transmission and found no significant effect, as your link says. that talking point is kind of dead.

the reason the us has so many more deaths than all the other countries can be explained by the president not creating a national plan in time and trying to reopen the economy before it was safe to do so, as well as his gross downplaying of the severity of the pandemic. i know this is a hard pill to swallow, but trump is kind of a dumb rich guy who's playing you very hard.

You mean to tell me that hundreds of people in one area are holding their need to go to a bathroom all that time? Heck they are not even six feet apart!

I have been involved in spray painting, I kept the pump filled while someone painted the barn roofs. You better not have any thing nearby you don't want to get paint on it. I was finding paint specks on the ground 50 yards away. When a puff of wind came you could see it carried way out of sight. It might not go across an ocean but it absolutely will go further than six feet.

I am sure things could have been done differently. But what does it matter when they say mass gatherings like protests do not contribute to the spread. In Kentucky churches couldn't even meet outside unless everyone stayed in a vehicle and there was a small attendance. And a typical church session doesn't last anywhere near as long as these protests. So everyone isn't checking out the facilities. As knowledgeable as you sound I really don't know how you believe that rubbish about protesters not contributing to the spread of the virus.

Yeah I use virus, bacteria, and germs interchangeably. My mistake, I was wrong.

Some experts say it is airborne and it can travel further than six feet:

So which is it!

if thats what the data shows then i dont really see much use in questioning it. i dont know what you want from the evidence if your response is 'well, im not an expert but i think it actually did have an effect' without demonstrating a correlation.

as for the smaller water droplets thing, if those scientists are correct in their findings, i think youre right and we should probably lock down again. we dont really know that much about the virus and our approach to getting past it may change in the near future.
