You do know how wrong it is to put words in the almighty God’s mouth, correct?

I think the motive there is a little different, but for sake of not having a double standard, that probably is not the right thing to do.

Facts are not "accusatory claims." In fact, the Christian right has done nothing but put words in their god's mouth. If you acknowledged the most basic history of the development of the Bible, this cannot be denied.

Well, duh. Only one of them exists, it's not super hard to figure out which created which.

Do you also believe in fairies? How about unicorns? Dragons?

"You are triggered by the idea that God is referred to as "he", so you make a mocking meme about it, without realizing how you expose your insecurity."

I'm quite confident that I have already explained to you what 'triggered' means and yet you continue to use it in a way that makes no sense; You are clearly just being obtuse.

I have no emotional investment in a conversation about your god, you are the person trying to defend a myth, not me. I comment on it to provoke you and you respond every time. It amuses me. You just went into an in depth explanation about your invisible Big Daddy Oh God is real but unicorns (which there's a rational explanation for) aren't.
You're not the only theist I enjoy hearing the ridiculous justifications of.
There's no more evidence for your nonsense than there is for The Flying Spaghetti Monster.

It's cute that you project your insecurity onto me, people that need religion as some sort of comfort blanket because they can't cope with trusting themselves to make independent moral decisions or understand the world through science, the people that need all the questions answered no matter how ridiculous the answers, are the truly insecure.

"Oh, really now, Dobby, honestly. Do you know nothing of me, after all this time...? Do you really need to resort to the tired, juvenile rationalizations of frightened atheists who hold their hands up to their ears and eyes and insist "there's nothing beyond my senses, there's nothing beyond my senses, there's nothing beyond my senses!!!!!" despite knowing fully well that there is...?"

When have I ever said that?

That is not what I believe. Don't make lazy generalizations.

"So, while you cover your eyes and ears and chant "there is no god, there is no god, there is no god", I'll be over here telling you "sure there is. It's just not yet time for you to know it. And until it is, it will be impossible for you to know, which you will consider just fine."

Why would you think that there's any need for someone to have to convince themselves of the lack of existence of something, why do you think the existence or lack thereof is relevant? Do you have to chant to yourself that all sorts of things don't exist?
0 ups, 4y
"...and your god is you.

This is self-evident.

Do you think a "believer" would freely confess that his god is himself...? (Even though it's true...?)

Do you know anything about idolatry...? Do you think the ancient pagans worshiped their gods because they believed they existed? Please. Their gods were themselves, just as my god is myself, and your god is you. Their "gods" were proxies, stand-ins for who they truly worshiped: me, myself, and I."

Are you assuming that I disagree with this?

Would it make a difference? And why? Perhaps it's a he-she, androgynous, ambidextrous, pixie dust, will-o'-the-wisp, vaporous, diaphanous and truly generous spirit, which you seem to abhor.

I never said I abhor God at all, I’m not sure where you got that from, but I don’t think God is a fairy tale figure. I don’t really think God has a “gender” either, but we say “father” and “him” because gender is assumed male, and that’s what’s in the Bible. Read Timber’s argument above.

I sort of get the impression Timber's position has flown very highly over your head. Perhaps you should read it a few times and consider the meaning of each phrase.

If you actually read the King James, you would realize the Israelites were "anointed to bring a messiah", which they have done. They are no longer anointed because they rejected the fulfillment of the law of which the old testament has many prophecies. My favorite of which is "the cornerstone that was refused will become the capstone".
The fulfillment being the new covenant that I scribes the law on our hearts. Meaning after getting saved you naturally want to do the right thing.

Yep. Back in those days if you were gay you were put to death. This was because you spread disease and you lowered the population and wouldn't have an heir.
0 ups, 4y
Unless you were the King, of course. And head of the church of England. In which case everything about you was a gift from God, including your sexuality.

Yeah. On the subject of homosexuality, I wonder if these socialists know what happened in Soviet Russia or Nazi Germany if you were gay...
0 ups, 4y
You got painted on posters showing gleaming specimens of manhood carrying the torch of the people into the future?
The propaganda art of both was exceedingly homoerotic. When you look into the personal lives of the men who ran things, the reason starts to become rather apparent.

Oh cool, an nth generation mistranslation shaped by an agenda.

Yahweh is a TRIBAL God, a Hebrew one. That's why He wasn't godding anyone else at the time or in fact since, as witnessed by not a single European so much as hearing a pip from a bush in the hills.
Jesus was NOT a Messiah, a word you need to look up.

“You got painted...”

No, Nazi and Soviet leaders were all pretty anti-gay, and were held in Nazi concentration camps.
0 ups, 4y,

Most anit-'gay' folks are in denial about their own true orientation and also thus loathe it.

Most US leaders who rant most against homosexuality end up losing their positions after being found in hotel rooms unclothed with male Swedish masseuses massaging their, um, rectums.

Are you NOT familiar with their propaganda posters and films?
You've not heard some rather curious (and fitting) details about their personal lives?
Go ahead, start with Hitler.

Nope, they use a primitive form of MD5 to verify that it was passed down unchanged. They also would copy from a master copy that was checked word for word until that copy was unreadable (about 100-200 years). Its the most accurate document that has been passed down in known history. Accurate in the sense that it is unchanged.

"Timber insulted and falsely attributed motivations and emotions to me while not backing any of their stuff up with sources."
He does that so regularly it probably constitutes a hobby, same with Syd and PugBoy.

Timber came and found me to boast about the conversation he had with you, the inconsumate weirdo. The guy just needs a hug.

lol yes.

Timber pointed out everything from King James wanting it shaped to have it lay the hand of God upon his crown to the specific names of the variants of Greek used during the particular periods he brought up and how it's nothing more than a glaringly awful translation referred to by ignoramuses trying to sound authoritive because it sounds so delightfully pretentious to cite it amongst the nodding throngs.

You struggled to wretch out "B-B-But G-G-God wrote it-t-t" through your drool and then spent the rest of the week licking your wounds.

Your usual version of an "explanation" is a blank-eyed one sentence lame contrarian pip 'backed' by a barely related link or two that you know no one will look at while you cackle "lol" as if that somehow proves the point you're not even attempting to make.

Skip your bs and try to LEARN something for once in your pathetic life.
