They did start it. Your denial of reality and history doesn't change anything.

Not Even Close. Democrats are insidious in their enslaving of the black man. I guess should I say the black woman; she is the one that holds the family together. After the Government has obligated generation to the enslaving welfare. ( JLB)

📣 Reduce people to nothing more than a color,

📣 Subject them to all sorts of negative stereotypes,

📣 Void them of individuality and agency,

📣 Try to use them as pawns on a Chess board when it comes to voting,

📣 Try to use them as Poker chips when it comes to saying Trump gifted them 3.9% unemployment simply by being so awesome (a ripple effect, no doubt, of hiring Omarosa and Ben Carson),

📣 Malign them as rabble rousing terrorists playing victim when they protest,,,

📣 Then say racism is not a thing.

Like Dems own the Burn Loot Murder organisation and domestic terrorists antifa(g) who are ACTUALLY active in society, unlike your kkk boogeyman.
1 up, 4y
Last time I checked one Trump inspired terrorist killed more people than every BLM and Antifa protest combined.

No, they do not.
Members may form the majority, but that doesn't mean it is a function of the party.

Democrats (Southern Conservatives) started the KKK, and the KKK starting voting Republican (Still Southern Conservatives) in the 60s.

Kind of like how Republicans went from freeing the slaves in 1860, and were pro-segregation in the 1960s. Parties change over time.
2 ups, 4y
No political party - and that would include the Democrats & Republicans - started, adopted, or otherwise supported the KKK.
1 up, 4y
I never denied they started it, more importantly, they started voting Republican in the 60s.

Yes they started it a hundred or so years ago. Please remind me who was trying to end segregation in the 1960's and who was for it?

Best I remember, the Democrats fought for segregation through the '80s (
George Wallace comes to mind) Google Boy.
2 ups, 4y,

So you're saying the [Democrat] governor of Alabama was pro-segregation? Call me shocked, boy!

Also, when George Wallace was running pro-segregation campaigns he was mostly doing it under the AIP - American Independent Party Ticket. A far-right (conservative) independent political party.

The term, Dixiecrat, was literally coined for Southern racist Democrats like George Wallace, who had too much Southern Pride to give up the Democratic Title, to separate him from what is the Modern (Liberal Northern) Democratic Party.

That's one thing that never changes in America. Demographics. When Republicans freed the slaves in 1860s, they were Northern Liberals. Just as when Democrats ended Jim Crow and Segregation, they were northern Liberals as well. Leadership changes and voters fall in line for who represents them. That is how the vast majority of black, who had previously supported Republicans up until the 1930s, virtually jumped ship to the Democratic Party by the 1960s.

That's basically how every push for civil rights goes in America. Supported by the more Liberal North, and resisted by the Conservative South. And even today with Gay and Trans Rights. Tolerance towards immigrants, refugees, etc.

A lot of republicans don't want the KKK on their side. That's why they keep refering to it's original founders the democrats. Kinda sad
1 up, 4y
Great narrative, but more based on the wishes and a re-write of history. The democratic party is and will always be the party of enslaving people. The ongoing belief that the government should be the guiding light of this country is prevalent in all its policies. Just look at Kamala Harris's latest hate for Whites and Republicans. How it that not hatred towards a race. That preachy bigotry is nothing but the calling card of the simple-minded, who think themselves of a higher station in life.

Wrong. George Wallace renounced his past racism in the late '70s.

You are aware that prior to the CRA of 1964 the parties were not as politically balkanized as they are today, right? Look at the vote Demographics. The vast majority of Republicans that supported the Bill were from so-called "Northern States" as in "Non-Confederate States" that had already independently ended Jim Crow. Many of whom switched parties soon after.

Democratic Leaders, like Lyndon Johnson and JFK, were running anti-segregation campaign while Republicans like Goldwater wanted it to be a "States Rights" Issue. Which is the conservative response to every civil Rights Issue. Just like they wanted Slavery States Rights. Jim Crow States Rights. And even all the way down to Gay Marriage States Rights.

Southern States started voting Republican for the first time in history since Reconstruction, which just so happened to be the same time Republicans were running racist pro-segregation campaigns. But I'm sure that's all a coincidence. Kind of like how all these modern-day Confederate Flag wavers vote Republican, you know the guys who literally beat them in the Civil War.

And yes. Black people "jumping ship" over a period of a few decades, is one of the most well-documented political demographic transitions in US history. It's no mystery why the North (and majority of black people) started voting for Democrats, the same time the South turned red.

Look at the electoral maps of 1944 and 1964. The Bluest part of the country turned the Reddest.

Ooh, ratios. They make for awesome distortion.

The only percentages that count in Congress is the "yays" or the "nays," not if 100% of the 2 Libetarians (just making the figure up in case anyone literally looks it up to bust me on the actual number) there vote for whatever.
Majority of VOTES pass or kill proposed legislation, not majorities within parties unless they overlap with the former sufficiently.

Either intentionally dishonest or very ignorant.

You seem to be missing the most important fact, that this was long after Robert Byrd renounced the KKK and said joining it was the worst mistake he ever made. He then devoted the rest of his life to fighting such pervasive ideologies through various organizations and charities.

That is why he was respected among [modern] Democrats, because he was reformed, saw the error in his ways, and spent the rest of his life trying to make up for his mistakes.

Read a f**king book.

[image deleted]Sorry, Simple Boy George... Thas this your comfort narrative. The democrats have always been the slavers. They fought against the 13th amendment( you should probably google that one, as being a democrat you lacking in knowledge) and the 19th( Same here, Remember that google is your friend, and you can look/sound smart if you spout your google knowledge, and tie it with good'ol insults, and bigotry; democrat style)

Hay Oct,if memory serves correct Robert Byrd led the democrat filibuster of the civilrights act in 1964... maybe he denounced the KKK in the 40s but it would seem that his hatred for black people was still alive and practiced well into the 60s

Actually yes, people do join the KKK by accident. It's well documented. They prey on kids from fracture homes. People desperately looking for a sense friendship and brotherhood. And then they conform because they want to belong.

Much like fools in the Democratic party. ( well documented. LOL)

There are plenty of Ex-KKK Members that talk about why they joined the Klan. It's not always pure racism. They seek a sense of community. Kind of like how some non-believers will still go to Church. People also get sucked into white nationalist groups in Prison for protection, and eventually get indoctrinated. Same thing with Muslim, Latino and other ethnic-gangs in prisons.

Look up Christian Picciolini, he is one of the more well-known Ex-KKK public speakers. Joe Rogan has talked about him.

Also watch Joe Rogan Podcast #1419 w/Daryl Davis. A black musician who essentially make a career out of de-converting White Nationalists and KKK Members.
