The Southern Strategy is a myth. The party switch is a myth. The Southern Strategy is supposedly that Nixon couldn't win without the south, so he decided to appeal to the south's endemic racism. The problem is that Nixon won in 1968 without the south. Nixon did win the south in 1972, but he didn't need it. If the entire south voted for McGovern, Nixon would have still won the election. McGovern was such a bad candidate that he only carried Minnesota and the District of Columbia. The Party Switch, which supposedly happened in the 1960's didn't happen either. The south voted reliably Democrat until 1993-4. Do the research, I have. The south switched to Republican not because of racism. The south switched to Republican over the Second Amendment after the assault weapons bill in 1993-4. I watched the State of the Union Address with Bill Clinton where he acknowledged that after the Democratic Party lost the House of Representatives for the first time in forty years. Mid-term election just after the 1994 Crime Bill (which Joe Biden helped to author and led to the mass incarceration of blacks) passed without a single Republican vote. The Crime Bill had an assault weapons ban in it that made the manufacture and sale of AR-15's and other so called assault weapons illegal for 10 years. Bill Clinton acknowledged that the brave representatives and senators gave up their seats to pass the historic crime bill. The racist crime bill, by the way. No, the party switch did not happen in the 60's, the democratic party is still the plantation party. Every major piece of legislation they have done "for" blacks in the last fifty years since the supposed party switch has done nothing except keep blacks in perpetual poverty. They are just Jim Crow laws in disguise. Do your own research, don't just parrot what the schills in the media have told you. Don't fall for it
