It depends mostly on your political views. Politics is mostly a place full of conservatives, but not fully. They do have other streams dedicated to their viewpoints. Politics Too is a progressives stream similar to the conservative streams, but dedicated to a progressive point of view.

Do you like humor? Stick with politics, it's not an echo chamber. Good luck getting a meme featured in politicstoo unless it's throughly drenched in TDS.

I actually think each of these 4 memes from the current PoliticsTOO front page fall on the “mockery” side of that line.

Trump has certainly done more than enough over the last 3.5 years to earn a whopping share of mockery. And his coping strategy is to label all critical news as “fake” and redirect all blame to governors, congressmen, Democrats, foreigners, etc.

You either buy that or you don’t.

I rarely look at politicstoo but the last time I did, the front page was full of memes that just contained vents of frustration and hatred. Maybe some better memes are there now but historically it’s been a Trump Haters’ echo chamber.

Politics Too was created by a user because they wanted a stream exclusively for leftist-themed political submissions.

Jake, as it is currently for folks wanting to engage in political memes: conservative members generally like the Politics stream, while liberal members are fans of PoliticsToo. This may sound simplistic but about all one needs to know. Good luck finding your niche :)

The technical term for this is "negative partisanship." And yes, it is the driving force in American politics today, on both sides.

As for me: I'd like to see less "bashing" and more constructive ideas all-around,. I think my meme submission history and the alternative political streams I've created and helped build stand to that.

Just because a butthurt leftist calls the other stream an echo chamber doesn't mean it is. I've never gotten a meme featured in that stream and others here get it. No one but global mods can delete comments or memes in politics.

Yeah, I've never even tried to submit in politicstoo. I figure it would be pointless in trying to get one featured. And I've heard you need to watch out what you say or your comments get deleted.

Yeah, because streams with stated viewpoints can and ought to engage in content control, or they will be derailed.

Can't remember what meme that was about, but over a period of 6+ months I've developed a pretty good sense as to what sort of content will "trigger" conservatives. I don't actively set about to do it, but nor do I self-censor.

Indeed, any meme I submit to politics typically gets 20-30+ comments and hardly any upvotes. If that's not a good gauge of "triggered," I don't know what is.

But I've since stopped posting to politics, since it inevitably triggers debates that suck up too much of my time.

I'm worried though... For republicans it seems more important to break down everything the democrat stands for, just because it's from the democrats and not because it might or might not be in the national interest, but sometimes I get the feeling the democrats are more and more returning the favor... I wonder how long it takes before the shit will really hit the fan.... Now I don't live in the U.S., but since the U.S. is an important political ally and business partner of most European countries, including my own, I will notice the consequences...

If you're some regular "Joe Schmo" trying to troll everyone (which I believe it to be the case, but who am I to judge?) I don't know what your political leanings are. As you can see from just these first few answers, fans of Politics can be a little sensitive. You'll have to read both for a few days to get a good sense of each. Then, if you're crazy or weak-minded, dive into Politics and never look back. There are people there who will take care of you and guide you on your journey to a total adulation of fascism. If you insist on thinking for yourself and engaging in rational discussion, well, politicstoo tries to fill that tiny niche. It's only tiny here because most regulars of this site are conservatives.
