Sorry, but most people can see exactly what happened here, including several PD’s around the country who have denounced this.

This is not a proper restraint of a handcuffed individual regardless of circumstances. Both out of basic human decency and because suspects could have underlying medical conditions.

Derek Chauvin is a murderer in the roughly same way OJ Simpson is a murderer. Though Chauvin doesn’t yet have the benefit of an acquittal and I doubt he will.

At this point the worst i can see is negligence. But subduing a man resisting arrest having a heart attack is not crushing the life out of someone with their knee.

He and the 3 bystander officers have been fired and charged. I’ve seen the photo and read about what happened, including bizarre details like the fact they apparently used to work together. I’ve considered the statements of other PDs and checked my own common sense to conclude this is in no way a proper restraint of a handcuffed individual.

If Floyd was high and had underlying health conditions, that only underscores why following proper arrest procedures is critically important.

And if Floyd had somehow died of a heart attack while being arrested in an upright position or while in transit in the backseat of a cop car, it might have sparked local protests, but I doubt it would have gone nationwide like this. And I don’t think it would have been murder.

Maybe Chauvin will plea out for a lesser charge, and I don’t know what will happen to the bystander cops, but I’m not going to wait to call this spade a spade. It was murder plain and simple.

The black cop involved was only a cop for 4 days. He asked kneecop a couple times to turn Floyd over.

Now he has his life ruined.

Even office workers get a week probation.

If that’s true, then they should receive leniency, but I’m not sure letting them crawl away is the answer.

Presumably, they received some sort of basic training at the outset of their employment and before going on their first patrol that would have clued them into how wrong this is.

Um, yeah, remember that curious heart condition that USED TO afflict 'Blacks' and Puerto Ricans in the process of being arrested by the NYPD which also left them with curious bruise marks all over their bodies in decades past that I told you about? Their autopsy reports said the same thing.

Thing is, like in this case, independent coroner exams (on the few that had them) found they were beaten to death, hence the contusions.

You can heap all the ailments Floyd SURVIVED (Corona being recent), but no matter which way you paint that story, he died because someone kept his knee on his neck over 8 mintutes and still nearly 3 minutes after he was unresponsive.

"But he was gonna die of natural causes anyways, just a coincidence it happened exactly when I stabbed him in the gut, your honor" does not exonerate anyone on Planet Earth.
