Quick check: how many other US Presidents said that they were in love with a dictator?

Name any other one than Trump.

Any.

Go ahead.

Obama praised Castro and Chavez

The full text of Obama's statement on Castro. If you could point to where he praised him:

At this time of Fidel Castro’s passing, we extend a hand of friendship to the Cuban people. We know that this moment fills Cubans — in Cuba and in the United States — with powerful emotions, recalling the countless ways in which Fidel Castro altered the course of individual lives, families, and of the Cuban nation. History will record and judge the enormous impact of this singular figure on the people and world around him.

“For nearly six decades, the relationship between the United States and Cuba was marked by discord and profound political disagreements. During my presidency, we have worked hard to put the past behind us, pursuing a future in which the relationship between our two countries is defined not by our differences but by the many things that we share as neighbors and friends — bonds of family, culture, commerce and common humanity. This engagement includes the contributions of Cuban-Americans, who have done so much for our country and who care deeply about their loved ones in Cuba.

“Today, we offer condolences to Fidel Castro’s family, and our thoughts and prayers are with the Cuban people. In the days ahead, they will recall the past and also look to the future. As they do, the Cuban people must know that they have a friend and partner in the United States of America.”

That must be the only statement Obama ever made on Castro and Cuba. *end sarcasm*

He was friendly with a dictator. You haven’t shown any evidence to the contrary. You have no justification here. Be gone, libturd.

You dumbass it is in the picture. He first walked up to Castro at Nelson Mandela’s funeral and shook his hand. It was noted by the media as a first. He then opened the US back up to Cuba with you assholes celebrating and many Cuban exiles in the US frowning on the decision. You lose, asshole now GTFO with your hypocrisy and lies.

A world leader shaking hands with a leader of another country doesn't prove friendliness.

there are many piictures of President Obama shaking hands with Putin.
There are some that show them smiling.

But did Obama say "I love him"?

Nope.

Prove that they were friendly. Prove it.

You need to google "Proving a negative fallacy."

Once you have struggled with that come back and rephrase you question.

Now, I am asking you to prove a positive. That something existed.

Prove that Obama and Fidel Castro were buds. Not in love. Not affectionate.

Friendly.

I guess you don’t remember all that happened afterwards between Castro and Cuba, but then again you haven’t proven this love link between Putin and Trump so you are shit. F**k you and f**k off, asswipe!

It’s rich how conservatives spend all day bitching about Obama de-escalating with Cuba and Iran (one of the few things that Obama did which was correct) then when trump de-escalated with North Korea, they suddenly support peace. Such a blatant double standard.
1 up, 4y
FDR always called Stalin good ol’ “Uncle Joe.” Trying to get on his good side. The problem is, you can never get in the side of a dictator that doesn’t exist.

I didn't say he was gay for Kim. I quoted Trump in that Trump said that he loved him.
And then I provided video evidence.

It's interesting that you went straight to gay. You should consider discussing that with your therapist.
1 up, 4y
Yeah, but Trump only lies.

Look, he said it but so what? Do you even politics? He mocked him as rocketman a little while previous. Trump has his own style, no argument there but I remember leftists crying that Kim was going to... uh... attack the world.

For the record, I see no problem with dialogue with any world leader. For Obama or Trump.

First of all, you’re committing a genetic fallacy. Just because a source is biased doesn’t mean it’s invalid. Second, why are you willing to grant as much leniency as possible to trump and not for democrats? It’s sarcastic when trump does it, but not if democrats do it. I dare you to be more partisan.

More like Democrats have shown far more love for dictators for decades now and not just Dem presidents.
0 ups, 4y,

Whether democrats support more dictators than republicans is irrelevant. What is relevant is that whenever a president, Democratic or republican loves a dictator, it’s important we call it out. They don’t get leniency simply for being a republican or a democrat.
0 ups, 4y
I’m an independent, so I don’t play partisan games. I’m very critical of Obama’s relationship with Saudi Arabia and Ethiopia. I’ve never once seen a republican give even the slightest criticism to their fellow republicans for supporting dictators.

I’ve already addressed that Obama’s diplomatic endeavors with cuba were the right thing to do, then I pointed out the obvious double standard with conservatives regarding foreign dictators. There’s nothing fallacious about that. What is fallacious is ignoring my points about trump’s over-friendliness to dictators like Kim Jong in, al sisi, duterte and mbs.
0 ups, 4y
To be clear, I actually support trump de-escalating with Kim Jong un, but i think his “I’m in love comment” was a bit much. There’s a difference between diplomacy and being besties with a dictator. By that same token, I agree with Obama in de-escalating with Cuba without personally liking Raul castro. Al sisi and duterte I also disagree with how trump talks about them. Finally I think trump’s relationship with MBS is inexcusable, just like how Obama’s relationship with MBS was inexcusable. My point was not necessarily to condemn all of the things trump said, but to point that out to people who think only liberals coddle with dictators. If a democrat was in office and said the exact same things, I guarantee you you wouldn’t shut up about it. But since it’s a republican in the White House, he’s granted all the leniency in the world.

Believe or not, trump also has praised China 15 f**king times for their pandemic response. The minute covid cases started spiraling out of control he suddenly shifted his rhetoric and starting to hate China. Interesting.

Trump has also bashed China and engaged with a trade war with them.

I understand that, but he also praised them 15 times. My point is not that he loves China, but that his relationship with it is extremely inconsistent.

That must explain the trade war President Trump waged with China and the many times Trump criticized China before the Coronavirus. He also called global warming a Chinese hoax.
