It may have been a personal beef. The two worked security at the same Minneapolis night club. Maybe Chauvin held a grudge, real or imagined.

Police and law enforcement from all over the country are denouncing this as excessive force.

Cops have a hard job, no question. This was unnecessary.

I agree with that

Knee to neck like that is a martial arts move that is not fatal.

Are you saying the cop was trained in martial arts and was using in that context and with that experience?

Otherwise, what's the point of mentioning that?

I’m so done with you people go burn down a building or loot a store I don’t care

OK, so cops are allowed to use that move to arrest martial artists. I'm fine with that.

I don’t think you understand how to take down a criminal. You do everything in your power to take them down and make them stay down. Otherwise you could die.

I don't know what country you're from, but here in the States, the cops are not allowed to execute people. You bring them in alive and give them access to legal counsel, or you de-escalate the situation entirely. Bringing unarmed people down with lethal force is not supposed to be an option. Not in this country! Not in our Constitution!

It wasn’t lethal force they used. Like I said before that move isn’t lethal. The man must have had something in his system that made it lethal.
5 ups, 4y
Maybe. But the force used was not justified by the alleged offence, and the cops ignored his report of a breathing emergency.

Jesus Christ you're still not getting it...

If something in his system makes it lethal, then the cops can't use it until they're sure there's nothing in his system, can they?

This is not rocket science, dude. I don't care how many times you need to re-read the comments you're getting - just keep at it until you've learned that your argument makes no sense even if your assertions were true.

Not if they don’t know there is anything in his system. My guess he wouldn’t tell COPS he has DRUGS. Because that just would stupid.

Now move on with your life your own comments are contradicting your statements.

Antithesis is spot on again

Police officers are trained in how to make arrests without using excessive force, mindful that civilians could have underlying conditions

I don’t know what training this guy received or didn’t receive, but this was clearly improper as many including in PDs around the country have explained.

He was already handcuffed.

Remember all those old martial arts films where one guy handcuffs the other guy, then kneels on his neck until he dies?

No? Me neither.

Weird that, such a typical move.

Regardless of the autopsy findings, this is problematic:

It is doesn't take four cops to arrest one man.

The level of force used was not justified by the offence.

When someone in a prone position tells you that they cannot breathe, you cannot fail to respond to this report. Breathing emergencies are life threatening, as anyone with CPR training knows. The officers responded by berating the man, telling him that he can't win.

He went down on his own, the knee on his neck was not necessary to assure custody and control.

There are so many ways that this went wrong that there is just no justification, explanation or defense for it.
5 ups, 4y
Correct on all counts. Procedure also states that once a person is cuffed, he or she should be moved into a sitting or standing position. The person should never be left face down on their stomach.

Awesome, so the police are going to be trained in techniques to arrest people with underlying health conditions?

I doubt it. The logistics of that would be horrible.

So what was the f**king point of you bringing it up, then? If the police don't know when someone has underlying health conditions and when they don't, then kneeling on their f**king neck is too f**king dangerous period.

Bro do you hear yourself right now? The facts say the officer might be innocent. Kneeling on someone’s neck like that is not fatal. Not even close. The man who brought that to light got fired and called a racist.

My guess is George had a few drugs in his system.

There is no way to know who has underlying health conditions and when you take someone down there is no room for error.

If you can assume an African American citizen had a few drugs in his system
I could also assume the Caucasian Officer was a Trump supporter and a racist
who didn’t give a shit about a black man dying under his knee
Allegedly, of course.
2 ups, 4y
I didn’t assume read my meme again. It clearly states the autopsy found potential intoxicants in his system.

An autopsy wouldn’t know for sure unless they specifically tested each drug.

Hey look, all the shit libs are seething that you dare mention the autopsy says he WASN'T asphyxiated. They're happy with riots and burning and more dead. Don't screw with the narrative!

I got the same treatment for also asking questions. Of course the leftists need a reason to justify burning down hundreds of buildings and displaying once again how violent leftists are.

I've also seen what happens when people jump the gun because of emotion.

But keep standing up to these that try to shame and bully you for merely asking questions. It doesn't mean you 'wanted' him to die, like they probably strawmanned you.

Like, isn't it weird that he said he couldn't breathe while standing, then again when being restrained, which wouldn't have been possible had he been choked out. Is it POSSIBLE that the knee to the side of the neck had more pressure on the shoulder and wasn't blocking his air flow?

If these cops were negligent to someone with medical conditions, deal with it but that's not the same as murdering them by choking. If that theory has merit.
2 ups, 4y
Emotion causes to many problems.

That’s my point the autopsy says he wasn’t choked to death but apparently the facts aren’t good enough for these people.

Apparently, it WAS that fatal! Apparently it was.

You know that part of the sixth ammendment that exempts people with drugs in their system from due process?

No, you do NOT know that part of the sixth ammenment that exempts people with drugs in their system from due process, because it ain't there because executing people with health complications and drug influences is not the police's business so WHAT IS THE F**KING POINT OF YOU BRINGING THAT UP???
2 ups, 4y
He wasn’t supposed to die if he did it want necessarily the cops fault. That is my point!

Look guys the cop messed up the move he used is not lethal and George my have had drugs in his system that made it lethal.

Be that as it may feel free to loot and riot and commit arson all in the name of “Black Lives Matter.”

Or you can admit mistakes were made and move on with your life.
