Not even their own people invest in these places.
Soon as some of them become famous musicians, actors, singers etc, they leave and never go back.

No, your point of view = evil.

To be obvious, they already had a looting problem, this just a holiday

Looting because of disrespect? I don't think so.

There's no causal relationship between looting and disrespect, that I know of. I'm certainly willing to listen if you have facts that support your claim.

They're probably looting because they think they can get away with it.

And btw, they are being disrespected because they're looting.

Holy f**k. I see you're not a business owner.

Wow, that is some mental gymnastics you did to justify the looting (not the anger that fueled the riots, but the looting).
Looting is not really part of the riot. It is an opportunistic side effect. But the behavior has become so predictable that, yes, it affects what communities businesses will invest in.

With violence or without?

If you want to go by statistics. If the mere presence of a gun at a protest implies violence, so does the mere presence of a black person. Obviously that's not the case. My point is that your arguement is illogical.

By suggesting they have no control of their actions or where they direct their anger. When I compared targeting innocent businesses to beating a child because you're angry (to point out why looting is wrong) you agreed to the analogy, but shifted blame away from the looter/abuser. Which suggest that you feel blacks have no control over how they respond to anger, hence "going off".
2 ups, 5y
Except, awith the excuses you've been making for the looting of innocent businesses and the lack of self control on the part of the black community, aparently you think a black person is more likely to go off than a gun.

Wow, you are truly delusional. The businesses being looted are not the ones who murdered George Floyd. In many cases, they aren't even white. This isn't "retribution" in any way, shape, or form. It is taking out you anger on the nearest convenient target (pun not intended). It is the equivalent of me getting mad at my boss and coming home and beating my kid. My anger may be justified, but my child is not the one who caused it, nor should they be the target of it.

I don’t care what another person did to make you angry (the father in the analogy). You might not have control of the situation that caused the anger but you, and you alone, are in control and totally responsible for how you react to it.
Blaming someone else for your actions is just an excuse and never justifies criminal behavior. Not even when you witness the murder of another person. If you can’t control your actions, you need to be institutionalized either in a psych ward or prison.

Actually, the person in the analogy is a mother. Otherwise I would have gone with beating my wife. Though that's irrelevant. You still got the point.

"id like to see some evidence that theyre looting because they think they can get away with it, and not because someone was murdered and theyre retaliating."
Retaliating by stealing from a business that had ZERO to do with what happened? Costing business owners in their own neighborhood thousands of dollars to repair damage is very counter productive. When this allis done and over, the business owners will recoup cost by cutting jobs or reducing pay.

No, it distracts from the need to prosecute the officer who murdered George Floyd.
This pattern of behavior is so predictable it's wash, rinse, repeat.
Police brutality, riot instead of prosecute, legal case is forgotten/no conviction (no deterrent for future officers, they get off Scott free, and the black community further victimizes itself)

nailed it

Once again your wrong. Their demand for justice was served when the police officer was arrested. But that wasn’t enough for them. They act like they want a public lynching without a trial.

do you honestly believe that in the process of setting up their new 55 inch that the thought "There, this will make the cops behave!" actually goes through their mind?

The moment the protests turned into riots, sympathy from the general public wen out the door. If anything, it enamored justification for police using force. These people have to deal with potentially life threatening situations every day and, unfortunately, some of them take it too far, as apparently happened with George Floyd. I’m sure he’s disgusted by the senseless violence being done in his name.

Once again your logic is flawed in many ways

That’s got to be the dumbest argument I’ve ever heard. Talk about being bassakward. . .
