I'll explain. There's this thing called carbon credits. They will be doled out based on how much a company pays taxes. These companies will be forced to innovate and reduce the things plants breath (CO2), then as the levels of CO2 go down the world will get better.
The problem is, when you innovate it costs money and the solutions usually cost even more money. So the economy will take a hit as your electric bill doubles or triples every year as they pass the increase in cost down to the consumer.
Of course this ignores the fact that we've had CO2 levels much higher in the past and the temperature wasn't affected at all.

why do you say we've had higher CO2 levels in the past?

I've yet to see a sensible answer. All I've seen are appeals to authority. With no underlying facts.
