The Fallacy Of "You Think He Can Do No Wrong!!"

Off the top of my head, I can think of plenty of things Trump has done right:

1. Dropped his Covid-19 is a media hoax shtick and declared a national emergency on Mar. 13. (Late is better than never);
2. Quietly dropped touting hydroxychloroquine when the results weren’t panning out, although he should have been more vigorous in explicitly repudiating his earlier support of it;
3. Hasn’t gotten us into any major new conflicts and is bringing the Afghanistan War to an end;
4. Tough rhetoric backed up by action on China;
5. Stock market at record highs and unemployment rates at record lows. (Until, you know...)
6. Generally supports gay rights although he’s retrograde on trans issues;
7. Quietly dropped the idea of locking up HRC despite being under immense pressure from the hard Right to politically persecute his defeated election opponent.

Even with the caveats I’ve thrown in here, this list paints a misleadingly positive picture of his Presidency. But you asked, I answered.

His many other faults have been covered by me and others at length, not worth rehashing here.

Don’t forget he got the First Step Act passed and signed. This retroactively applied the Fair Sentencing Act to federal prisoners. 91.3% of the first 1051 inmates released due to it’s passing were black.

Some takeaways:
--Trump said his doctor did not recommend the drug to him, but he requested it from the White House physician. "I started taking it, because I think it’s good," Trump said. "I’ve heard a lot of good stories.”
--Two large observational studies, each involving around 1,400 patients in New York, recently found no benefit from hydroxychloroquine. Two new ones published Thursday in the medical journal BMJ reached the same conclusion.
--One, by French researchers, gave 84 hospitalized patients the drug and 97 others the usual care. There were no differences in the odds of death, need for intensive care or developing severe illness.
--The other study from China was a stricter test: 150 adults hospitalized with mild or moderate illness were randomly assigned to get hydroxychloroquine or usual care. The drug made no difference in rates of clearing the virus or time to relief of symptoms, and they brought more side effects.

I swear: every damn time I go out on a limb and praise Trump for something, the news proves me wrong in a day or two

If you can't name one good thing that Trump has done or one wrong thing that Obama did, you are brainwashed!

Because here's the deal; I, as a republican, will admit that Trump has faults ("Grab 'em by the p*ssy) and that Obama did a couple of good things while in office (preventing the recession from getting worse and killing Bin Laden).

So how is it so hard for those on the left to do the same?
