I don't think you've understood: it has a 2% mortality rate WHEN IT'S NOT A PANDEMIC. If you catch it, the doctors aren't busy, there's space in your hospital if things go wrong, that's what you can expect.
WHEN THINGS SPIRAL OUT OF CONTROL, maintaining that 2% mortality rate becomes the goal: if you're just as unlikely to die during a pandemic as when you're the only person in the world who has it, you can say that your country has a pretty robust medical system. But what's been happening in Italy, Spain, the USA, and so on, is that if everyone gets sick at the same time INCLUDING DOCTORS AND NURSES then suddenly that 2% mortality rate becomes 10% or more.
That means five times more people die.
That means stop moaning, stop being hyperbolic, calm down, and protect that 8% who don't have to die.
