Umm, God is not a Genie that stops things. He gave man free will to make decisions that are good or bad. Some see the evil and makes some appreciate the good. It should not even be a God thing but a human thing. All humans deserve rights and the ability to live it.

Not just cause someone prays. He does what he wants. Prayer isn't for changing God's plan, but for getting you onboard with it. Bending our will to his, not the other way around.

You don't have to. Even secularists fair better when they stop trying to change the world and, rather, change themselves. Psycologically speaking, accepting that you're not in control, is the first step to accepting a bad situation. Giving everything over to God, does the same thing.

By that reasoning, you are saying if god exists then He (or She) invented the polio vaccine, that He or She alone makes people do what they do.

Sorry, bit I think we are endowed by our creator with the ability to learn and to make choices. When you blame the gods for all our failures or achievements you relinquish personal responsibility.

Pulling out, is still aborting the mission. "Conception" isn't a magic word.

People have no problem counting unviable pregnancy abortions, among total abortions.
People have no problem counting abortions done due to possible death of the woman, in the total.

Honestly, if you don't have 12 kids in your house and a wife that is barren due to having too many kids, you have no business bitching about abortion. Maybe that wasn't your option of choice but you still managed to make sure you put your own personal, "choice" on the number of God's greatest gifts under your roof.
4 ups, 5y
Well I have 7 kids not 12. I still think murdrer is wrong and you don’t so fine be that way.

And isn’t there another option of a pill and condoms? If you’re man enough and woman enough to have have sex maybe you should be smart enough to take the proper precautions too....
1 up, 5y,
1 reply
It's all the same. It's preventing/aborting what the act creates. Many women can't take the pill. 12% of condom use causes pregnancy, mistakes happen every day. I don't judge people decisions and I don't think anybody gets an abortion with a smile on their face.

Wow. You failed biology obviously.
Abortion stops a beating heart and kills a brain that is producing brainwave patterns.
Birth control doesn’t.
Preventing someone from getting a disease isn’t the same as killing that disease.

I don’t consider that to be an abortion for precisely those reasons.
We define death as the cessation of both brainwave activity and a heartbeat, so ...

No brain activity + beating heart = person is still considered alive
Active brain + no heartbeat = still person can still be revived, not fully dead yet, but close
No brain activity + no heartbeat = doorknob

These idiots who claim to die and either “go to heaven” or say that “Gawd showed hell to me and it skeered me so bad I decided to start goin’ ta church” and then later claim that the Lawd sent them back to earth with their message ... may have had their hearts stop for a short time in a car accident, drug OD, or on the operating table but their brains really never stopped (although I’m tempted to debate that with myself due to how stupid they are). Once a person truly dies, cellular necrosis begins to take place and that is an irreversible process. Sorry widows son in the Old Testament. Sorry Lazarus. Sorry Jesus. Sorry guy who fell out of the window listening to Paul preach. The world doesn’t work that way. And other than fanatical disciples and raving believers claiming it does, people don’t really believe that load of crap.

I seen if you were deemed to have the virus and committed suicide, it would be a Covid death. Reports are New York and Washington is doing that now. Make it look worse so they look better.
4 ups, 5y,

Even if it means less people are dying directly from covid-19, that isn't exactly comforting information.
1 up, 5y,

I agree, they are shuffling the deck. A reporter asked why have heart attack deaths gone down, they stated they are all being classified as Covid now. Making the numbers look worse so people stay living in fear.
3 ups, 5y
Covid is also destroying the heart in many people, more likely to die with no heart disease but signs of heart damage due to Covid, than getting covid with heart disease. It's affecting different people in different ways.

I'm not hearing Trump comparing American deaths to Obama's swine flu any longer. No, it's not going to age well. We'll likely be dealing with this still in a year.

In case you missed it, Cuomo skipped past this slide extremely fast.

What? 'All credit to Polly' won't age well?
Or the memo on PEPFAR?
Your comment is irrelevant in what is discussed I afraid.

As to coronavirus,... the numbers are inflated. It's been the case for a while now, with family members coming forward and objecting to causes of death. Even Dr. Birx admitted to that few days ago - BUT that is not enough for you to keep pushing debunked bullshit further along.
You go on then. Don't let anyone stop you.

Youre aware that ALL the numbers will go up along with COVID-19 numbers.....right?
2 ups, 5y
Yes. It seems highly likely that all of the numbers will increase...but I think you are missing my point.

Look at the difference in the RATE of increases.

There is roughly 1 week difference between the black meme and the blue meme and the covid-19 deaths have doubled. Current numbers indicate that covid-19 deaths have nearly doubled again in 1 week. All of the others on the list aren't even close to doubling every week.
3 ups, 5y,

Yup. Looking at only deaths that have already happened is a very poor mode of analysis

The actions we’re taking now are intended to *prevent* future deaths. If we waited until these Covid-19 deaths hit the suicide mark or whatever to decide it was finally worth acting, it would be much too late

Trump and his officials themselves have estimated 100,000-240,000 deaths by the end of this, and that’s just in America

Now that estimated number from their vaunted models is down to 60,000 ... and even those will be doctored for political reasons and “optics.”

Car accident death and victim had a fever? = COVID-19
Falling off your roof and you had a cough? = COVID-19
Advanced stage lung cancer fills your lungs with fluid? = COVID-19
Had a deadly heart attack and was winded from climbing the stairs? = COVID-19
Was exposed to a known victim but died from anything else? = COVID-19

Simply displaying any symptoms while you're dying from any other cause = COVID-19

Deborah Birx: "The intent is right now if someone dies WITH COVID-19, we're counting that as a COVID-19 death."

Normally, these types of shenanigans would be cause for concern from the Left but because we're in a worldwide pandemic, it's OKAY!!!

https://nypost.com/2020/04/07/feds-classify-all-coronavirus-patient-deaths-as-covid-19-deaths/

(New York Post! Conservative source!)

This article goes into some of the issues here. We still don't have coronavirus tests widely available everywhere, performing autopsies can be dangerous because of the risks of infection, etc. Those kind of errors lead to under-counting.

From the article: “Then you will include in those numbers some people who did have a pre-existing condition that would have caused death anyway, but that’s probably a small number,” Baden said.

I take their point to be about the way covid interacts with pre-existing conditions, not traumatic deaths like car accidents which are obviously not covid-related.

You raise a legitimate point, we should always be critical toward statistics, but I don't think it's evidence of nefarious intent.

It’s nefarious when FEMA promises reimbursement for hospitals who treat COVID patients.
