A country 2 years on a war footing, (actually the US was preparing for war earlier) compared to 2 months to prepare for a pandemic. Hmmm, not sure you are really comparing two similar things...

Trump didn't order ventilators or masks till mid March.

His own administration says the ventilator order is a joke. They won't arrive till the worst is over, mid-June.

so you're suggesting we were manipulated by the military industrial complex into ww2? did we attack ourselves at pearl harbor?

i still think the op shouldn't be holding us accountable to airplane-producing as we were back then.

The OP is talking about how we used to be able to mass produce more airplanes than the rest of the world combined but cannot make ourselves something as simple as ventilators or masks in the modern day. If you don't think that's a valid point then you are fairly hopeless. Or do you think we should be dependent on the rest of the world for basic medical supplies?

could've been something other than planes. then, i wouldn't've retorted. also, we still hold the market in airplane production. many companies internationally use boeing for commercial flights.

and we're still producing military jets today at an astounding rate because companies like lockheed martin lobbies us into endless wars

Not from an airplane manufacturer. Or do you have evidence of ISIS flying around in F-35s?

We rarely lose aircraft in the wars we fight - lockheed's lobbying is more about contracts. They don't actually gain anything from our wars, they gain from our fear of large-scale wars. I wouldn't expect someone as naive as you to understand the difference, though.
