The government can't legally do it for you. At best they can charge a sick person with involuntarily manslaughter if they go out and get someone sick and that person dies. That's the limit of the law.

This is a fine example of the modern Libertarian/Conservative mindset. It's "I only worry about me, because f**k you."

Notice the word choices: "scared of" which implies that some aren't afraid and will continue to go about their normal daily lives.

It's not just "are you scared of COVID-19" it's being proactive and stopping the spread.

Stay home.

If you get it, you will likely survive it. But what about all the people you spread it to? Will they? And they people they infect in turn?

It's not about you. It's about being a responsible person in society.

In 2019, it's estimated that 12,000 to 61,000 people in the U.S. died from the flu.

Best estimate for the least amount of deaths in the U.S. from COVID-19 is 200,000.

That's literally more than 10 times the amount of deaths in the best case scenario.

A best case we are not in. There isn't enough protective equipment for medical staff. There isn't enough medical equipment for those who are infected.

Florida didn't stop a massive party where dumb kids were having coronavirus parties. The Georgia beaches are still open. That means it's EVERYWHERE now.

It's Ill-conceived because it's a response that IS WAY TOO LATE AND WAY TOO LITTLE.

If it's taken 25 years for the flu to kill 1 million people in the US, how fast will COVID-19 eclipse that if we do nothing?

Keep in mind, Trump himself said that if we have less than 200K deaths, we'll be very lucky.

The flu has an infection rate of 1.3 over a 3 day period.

Meaning 1 person who gets infected, passes the flu on to 1.3 people every day for 3 days. It has a death rate of 0.1%.

COVID-19 has an infection rate of 2.5 over 14 days. It has a death rate of 3% (worldwide, it varies in places. Like Germany has 1%, South Korea and Taiwan way less, and Italy is 10%).

We're on track with Italy and set to exceed that.

A lot of people are going to die, Bob.

A lot.

But, f**k it. Only stay home if your scared.
