No one denies that GDP growth was "steady" under Obama. But what people seem to forget is that he is the only President to reach 3% average annual growth

That's a pretty reductive view, but sure let's run with it. But you do realize the recession ended in June 2009? Just five months after Obama took office. So it's not like Obama had to battle for years to bring the country out of recession. The economy was in expnansion for 99.9% of the time he was in office. And even with that, he had the weakest recovery on record.

here's the fact: the country did recover strongly during Obama's tenure. he worked to help that happen. if he had struggled with little success (because it was an extremely difficult task for some reasons), you guys certainly wouldn't give him more credit. your goal seems to be to credit him as little as possible.

now here's ol' Trump, and Obama hands him a substantially recovered economy, and you guys want to praise Trump *even though you just shorted Obama on praise because the recession ended during his first year. LOL! if that had been Trump, you'd praise him! y u no like Obama? ) :

"the country did recover strongly during Obama's tenure"...no. I was not a "strong recovery". GDP for the majority of his tenure averaged less than 2.0% growth. Again, Obama is the only President to not achieve a single year of 3.0% growth in GDP.

For instance lets compare Obama's last 6 quarters of GDP to Trump's first 6 quarters. This comparison makes sense as it takes the end of Obama's tenure and the beginning of Trump's tenure, thereby avoiding penalizing Obama's average because of the recession which impacted his first two quarters.

Obama achieved growth in GDP each of those quarters, and he did it without major deregulations. Trump's goal in deregulating was to help the top 1%. that money goes mainly to making the rich richer.

Why do I like spin so much, as you then proceed to spin why Obama's growth was lower than Trumps.

Its hilarious. I actually post economic numbers from the Federal Reserve which debunks your claims (that were provided with zero citation) and then you tell me I am spinning.

I said Trump has out performed Obama, which the numbers support. The numbers also don't support your claim that "Obama led a strong recovery"

Where’s that 5% GDP?

Manufacturing is the worst its been in 9 years. State unemployment figures are starting to fall apart. Typical Trump to cherry-pick the figures.

Manufacturing is the the worst its been in 9 years? Really? How are you measuring this? By number of US Manufacturing jobs? Well that doesn't line up. In 2010 there were 11,460 manufacturing jobs, in 2020 there were 12,851.

What about by growth in those jobs? Does that line up? Hmmm not really. From 2014 through 2015, the percentage change from the prior year was less than 2.5% growth, then in 2016 (Obama's last year), growth wen to zero, in fact just below zero (meaning less jobs than the previous year). At the start of 2017 (Trumps first year) thru 2019, growth was again positive, close to 2.5%. Now in 2020, the percentage is dropping again close to zero (there are still jobs being created in manufacturing, but at a slower pace).

What we see here, upon actually looking at the data, is that you are full of crap.
